I think there is a bias against BYU. But back to my original point, if A&M had a more balanced conference schedule, they probably would not be a 1-loss team which would open the door for BYU.
I would argue BYU would not be a 1-loss team had they played at ND and were in the SEC, despite A&M’s “easy” SEC slate.

Probably not, but if there were in SEC and were say 9-3 on A&Ms schedule would you have them ranked in the same spot as now?
No, but there is no such thing Were A&M 9-2 going into yesterday instead of 11-0 they’d have been ranked about 15 or 16 if I had a guess. About like Michigan. And then they’d probably barely be in the Top 25 or unranked after last night’s loss.

Still not exactly sure what your point is honestly.

My point is that A&M isn't as good as we think, because they couldn't beat Texas and played a weak ass SEC schedule. They played exactly 1-team with a winning conference record and lost to them. You are forgetting that 3 of A&Ms wins are Utah St, UTSA and Samford. Just as week as BYU or Tech.

And they beat ND in South Bend. BYU got blown out by Tech, and beat Colorado by three points. So there’s that too. I think A&M will be ranked appropriately, I do t think they are that great. But I don’t think BYU is either.

The Big 12 Has Started Campaigning for BYU to Make the College Football Playoff

Casey Lundquist

The Big 12 has started to campaign for BYU to make the College Football Playoff. If the season ended today, BYU would be the first team left out of the 12-team field. Now that BYU has finished the season 11-1, the Big 12 has started to campaign for BYU to make the playoff.

On Saturday afternoon, the Big 12 put out a graphic summarizing BYU's CFP resume.

The conference pointed out BYU's strong strength of record - a metric the committee is supposed to use to help construct the rankings. It also pointed out that BYU's only loss is to a top five team on the road.

The chances of two B12 teams getting is basically zero. 5 SEC, 3 B10, ND, ACC, B12, G5. Pretty much set in stone.

The only way it might change is if Vandy and Alabama lose today and even then it’s probably a long shot.

Big 12 and ACC schools need to really ramp up their OCC schedules if they want to win beauty contests with SEC teams with same or similar records.
What if tech and bama both lose the CCGs? Does tech drop all the way out from #4 or does a 3 loss bama get knocked out?

But only three games away from being in the Big 12 championship game. There were at least two of those games we should have won…in a glass half full approach to things. This could have been a pretty memorable season if only a few things had gone slightly different.
I get it, but I just don’t think we are that good. Expecting 10-2 from this team is a little much.

Everyone talks about how talented we are, but I don’t think we have one good NFL prospect on the entire defense or the O-line. I think according to 247 sports we have the 32nd most talented roster, which sounds about right. I don’t think this team squandered some great opportunity. But we should’ve won the Iowa State game, that’s for sure.

That would be interesting. Now that you bring that up, I think Tech would get the nod over Alabama. That convincing win at Utah really helps Tech’s case in case they slip up. I don’t think the my are going to though.

I think most of us believe that coaching didn’t get the most out of the talent we had. With decent coaching, this was a 10-2 team. We should have won ASU and ISU with decent coaching.
