FWIW, take away that “aberration” year and it looks like this:

BYU 21-9 (.700)
Iowa State 23-10 (.697)
Tech 20-11 (.645)
K State 20-12 (.625)
TCU 18-12 (.600)
AZ 18-12 (.600)
AZ state 18-13 (.581)
Kansas 18-13 (.581)
Utah 17-13 (.567)
WV 17-15 (.531)
Baylor 15-16 (.484)
Colorado 15-16 (.484)
OK state 14-17 (.452)
UCF 13-17 (.433)
UH 12-17 (.414)
Cincy 12-17 (.414)
Are you going to take away everyone's aberration seasons? BYU would be 18-12 if you took out their 11-2 season.

The post you quoted has BYU at 21-9, not 29-14.
Yes...
BYU
2025 5-0
2024 11-2
2023 5-7
2022 8-5
So...29-14 less 8-5 is 21-9. He took out the 2022 season that TCU was 11-2, not BYU's best season in that stretch 11-2 in 2024.

So were 2014 and 2015 then I guess.

I mean, I didn't know we were cherry picking but if you take those two seasons and '22 off the record, we're basically a .500 team. And 42-50 in Big 12 play. And that accounts for about 80% of the football being played since we've been in the B12.

And yet fans act like we should fire our coach every time we lose a game. It's just nuts. The guy literally has the best record in the conference since he's been a TCU coach and he is one loss away from about half the fan base wanting him gone and two losses from about 75% of them wanting him gone.
It’s not “half the fans”. It’s the same 4 or 5 crybabies who come on this board and hysterically complain about the coaching staff and everything else everytime we lose.

Most of us know to stay away from here after a loss because the children can’t take a loss. That tends to skew the perspective.

AP: No. 21 Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt expected to miss game against Utah with undisclosed injury

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt is expected to miss the Sun Devils’ road game against Utah on Saturday with an undisclosed injury.

The No. 21 Sun Devils (4-1, 2-0 Big 12) have won three straight games while Utah (4-1, 1-1) had a lopsided win over West Virginia last weekend.

“Sam’s been battling something going back to Baylor — he fought through the TCU game,” Sun Devils coach Kenny Dillingham told Arizona Sports 98.7 FM on Friday. “Sam does everything he possibly can to come back and play in football games. He’s the ultimate competitor.

“This week, it just didn’t feel as good as we wanted it to leaving Wednesday’s practice,” Dillingham added. “I think this is the best thing for him and the future season.”

West Virginia’s Rich Rodriguez sent dire warning on TCU, Houston, Colorado, Arizona State, Texas Tech

The Sporting News

West Virginia Mountaineers football coach Rich Rodriguez’s return to Morgantown is going nothing like many around the program were hoping it would. WVU is 2-5 following a 45-13 blowout loss to the UCF Knights on Saturday, and things probably aren’t getting better over the final five games.

The Mountaineers alternate home and away games to close out their schedule, playing the TCU Horned Frogs next at home, the Houston Cougars at TDECU Stadium, the Colorado Buffaloes, the Arizona State Sun Devils in Tempe, and ending the season with the conference’s top dog, the Texas Tech Raiders.

Yahoo Sports’ Dan Wolken believes the second honeymoon is over for Rodriguez and the Mountaineers, warning that West Virginia may well be headed for a 2-10 finish, given their remaining slate.
