At least we won't have to listen to another chapter of the Perils of Pauline in Porkerland . . . This has really been a slow and unflattering process for Arky.

Arkansas was intrigued by Bielema's 3 consecutive Rose Bowls and also attention to defense and power running game

Arkansas is unable to comprehend the difference between earning a Rose Bowl berth and getting in by finishing 3rd in a division in which the two best teams are on probation.

Badger fan here just checking in to provide some perspective on the potential rumors that may be headed your way.

First: Wisconsin coach Bret Beilema will not be the next Auburn HC. (Some folks on the Wisconsin board are floating this idea)
Second: The Kent State coach would be the best hire you guys could make, IMO.

Here is why BB (as we call him) will not be leaving UW anytime soon. Barry Alvarez hand picked him and they have a great relationship. BB is the fifth highest paid HC in the Big Ten. That means UW has a little work to do in the compensation department, but that is the natural expectation in college football.
BB has gone to three straight Rose Bowls and is building a long-term national power at UW and won't be quitting his masterpeice anytime soon.

I think Butch Jones is going to end up at Purdue, but that may be a guy Tennesssee should look at, but I would strongly suggest the Kent State coach. He has strong ties to the fertile recruiting state of Ohio and oh yeah, just happens to be a hell of a coach.

Bielema's a meat head ... he allowed his OC in our Rose Bowl game to try to be creative when it was obvious from the beginning that if they kept pounding the ball between the tackles with their average 322 LB OL(3 drafted in NFL 1st 2 rounds)... that they would have had a huge day against our 270 tackles and most likely have won that game... would have never needed to throw more than 8-10 passes. But the OC wanted to test our strength(speed) to the outside and the Meat Head didn't interceed ... thank goodness!

Wished Briles going to Arkie and Bielema to Baylor or UT instead... if UT, hopefully not, dumps Mac Daddy. We want the B12 to replace good coaches with meat heads like Bielema... as I know the wiscy students were hugely done with him after our RB victory. He also did a couple of meat head moves in last years Rose Bowl loss too.

Cheers !
