Actually, he wasn’t, at least if you are meaning his time here at TCU as head coach. NIL deals started in July 2021. He was hired in November 2021.

If you mean SMU, sure…but you can’t tell me they weren’t paying their transfers then either.

Yeah, here. But again, I highly doubt he was getting all those great players to transfer to SMU if they weren’t offering some type of financing ha.

Either way, this year I think needs to show some momentum in a positive fashion. We’ll see what happens. Currently, my thought process is hope for the best but expect the worst sadly.

This. We actually kept as big a core of players in the program as about anyone in the country. If we can consistently recruit really good players and keep them in the program, we are going to be way more consistent than any of these portal teams. According to the metrics, the best team improved by one win. Big whoop.

If your team doesn't need a whole lot of help from the portal, you are not going to be ranked very high. I don't see Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Ohio State, or many other good teams.
