Best game ever

I remember telling people TCU was going to be hard to stop on turf - Basil Mitchell could flat out fly on that stuff. It was beautiful watching Claiborne completely self destruct as our guys blew by him play after play.

Which makes you wonder what was the best play ever in a TCU game? Was it the Rose Bowl and Tank's swatting of the 2 point conversion? Maybe in the modern era. Who knows about plays from the 1930s.

I'll go ahead and assume something Sam Baugh did was the greatest play ever in a TCU game. Tank's swat was definitely the most exciting that I've seen.

Kenneth Davis had some unbelieeeeeevable sweeps.

Maness 99 yard TD reception.

Blackwell catching uncatchable balls

Marvin White

The swat

Boy to Boy (no Steel, not that kind)

I didn't see the play, but to read the description of Jim Swink's run against UT in '55, it has to be considered one of the best. This was the day after the UT cheerleader had made up the hook'em horns sign as a "hex" to try and stop Swink.

In what would eventually be a 62 yd TD run, Swink zig-zagged through the defense. Witnesses state that every Longhorn defender had a least 2 chances to tackle him. Nearing the 15 yd line, having left his own blockers lying on the turf, Swink picked up two new blockers wearing burnt orange. He had turned the defenders around to the point that they were briefly running interference for him.
