Been a long week and I couldn't take it any more...

We've been moving all week from Las Colinas to FTW. All week it's been a 10-hour day at work followed by 3-4 hours at the old place moving misc crap and cleaning. I haven't been home before 11 all week.

Last night I was sleep-driving home around 11 listening to the Fan. I guess I was too tired to change the dial after the Ranger game. Some idiot named Arnie was the host. He was talking about the Big XII and made mention of T. Boone's comments. He took his words as gospel and kept going on and on about how we can't fill a 35k seat stadium. I finally pulled over and called in to set him straight.

Rundown of what I said:
It's a 44k seat stadium, not 35.
We averaged more than 35.
Stadium expansion plans could make it 55.
When was the last time OSU filled their stadium when it wasn't Texas or OU?
I'd like to see how many people would see OSU if they had to play UNM, WYO, or CSU.
T. Boone is a moron. (I forgot to make a Don Quixote reference)

When asked why Texas doesn't want us in the BX:
They're scared.
We already do a good job with recruiting and the last thing the other schools want is DFW's best players to play in their own back yard.

Then I got cut off.

I used to call in to talk shows in my younger days but haven't in over ten years...but this really got my blood boiling. I just can't believe the ignorance the local media has for our school and program.

The radio guys, and especially the talk show hacks, are paid to pull listeners to the station for advertising bucks.

They are not paid to be smart. They are not paid to be accurate. They are not paid to be objective. They are not paid to make sense. They are not paid to be truthful.

They are paid to generate advertising impressions.

If broadcasting six dwarfs and a jackass farting into an open mike would put money in their pocket, guess what you'd hear?

Arnie knows some sports, but college football ain't one of them. I wish he would go back to whatever rock they found him under.

OSU did not even come close to filling their stadium on opening day, against Georgia, a top 25 matchup, where they were opening their new luxury suites, and Tboone gave a speech outside. I was there.

Just remember that TCU's avg attendance was 5% higher than Baylor's last year. We did not get the benefit of playing in state Big XII rivals like UT and we had over 50,000 purple clad fans against Utah.

TCU can overflow our 44K seat stadium. We have no problem filling it. UT has a problem acting like men instead of cowards.
