We would have too many pictures of injuries to tweet out to show how our season changed. Cry me a phuggin river.
Someone should tweet out the 6 starters on D and the others on O

Our players are out for the year but yet Briles and other Baylor fans think Seth will be back. Where is the sympathy for our players?

Was targeting called? Didnt see the context of the hit/play.
No

Russell lowered his head at the last minute and caused the helmet to helmet contact. The defender was going towards his mid section.

I think the interesting thing will be how Stidham handles getting hit. Not saying I want him injured or anything, but he has played some mop up duty and kept his jersey clean.

He is now going into the 5 most physical games they will play. He is going to get popped quite a few times and he needs to learn how to avoid taking a direct hit like Byokin has.

I also think he will make enough mistakes that Baylor will drop two before we play them. They get into 3rd and long quite often and Russell was able to bail them out. If Stidham can't convert those and gives up a couple of picks, Baylor doesn't have the defense to overcome that.

Not understanding what all the concern is over Russell. We all know after he sees a "specialist" chosen by Baylor. "Dr. Art" will deem him ready to go after off week to rest up. Chance at CFP is way more important to Briles than one player and any possible long term repercussions, such as paralysis.

In all seriousness, the book "Dreamland," about the opiate "epidemic" in the US, is scary stuff. The prescription opiate slingers, backed by big pharma, created a huge new and lucrative market for the heroin trade, which has been admirably exploited by groups from the Xalisco region of Mexico. It's not the inner city junkies in NYC that are dying with needles in their arms. It's white bread upper middle class cheerleaders and quarterbacks, who get introduced to the magic poppy by their neighborhood orthopedist. And you don't hear anything about it.
Recently saw a documentary that did a good job of telling how it has ruined lives.  The film is called Oxyana and tells the story of a small town in West Virginia where almost an entire generation of young people are lost to prescription drug abuse.  It is certainly not a feel good movie, but quite an eye opening documentary.  Very sad.  If you know the whole back story, it will change your opinion of Purdue Pharmaceuticals (if you even had one).

I'm not sure there is much drop off for Baylor honestly.  System offense so you put the next guy in.  Ohio St won a national championship with their third stinger.  Frog fans shouldn't get their hopes up imho.

The "next guy" still has to make clutch throws under pressure. Yes they have a great system that helps QBs succeed, but it's not a sure thing that any old idiot can do.

Yeah, when everything goes right and there's a wide open WR, it's not hard, but when there's a 260 lb DE charging and you don't know where to go with the ball, do you make the right call or throw the INT?

That's the difference between a freshman and a senior... we'll see

I just hope Russell is getting mature and knowledgeable advice from people he trusts.  Unless the pain is debilitating, every player worth his salt wants to get back in the game immediately.  Warden Briles has proved that he'll let them, if there's any possible way he can.

This sounds like the kind of injury that could have life-long repercussions though, and Russell's decision should never be influenced by the likes of good old Uncle Artie.

I just counted up the change on my bedside table and there was 25 bucks!

I know this has nothing to do with Seth Russell, but neither does the last couple of pages of this thread.
Good for you.  It means more to you knowing you earned it the hard way...a quarter at a time.

Oh yeah Briles said they should know something at end of day. His appointment was at 10am.
