Baker hit a rope that popped up off the pitcher’s hip and into the shortstop’s glove. Then they went to 2nd for the double play but it looked like CW might’ve beat the throw.

Just bad luck on that play.

Feel like Baker has had a disproprotionate number of really hard hit balls go for outs

Baker smacked it right up the middle but it hit the pitcher in the hip, ricocheted to the short stop who caught it for an out, and then threw it to second for the double play, but the TCU base runner was safe by a mile. Extremely unlucky ricochet, but that second out call was absolutely BS. Wasn’t even remotely close. CW was touching the bag well before the ball reached the glove.
