Looks like TCU is going to have to go through #1 again.

Almost guaranteed to happen every season when both Texas and TCU host a regional...unless one or the other doesn't make it out.

It is likely we'll go through Austin, but the alternative is Fayetteville, which is likely to be tough as well. I simply want to host a Regional and we will figure it out from there. We need to beat Baylor tonight.

my email about whats going on at TCU says about:

1) #5 Baseball vs. Baylor
Tonight at 6:30 p.m.
Class of 2011 get a free food and drink coupon at the
Junior Transitions table inside the stadium!

um, where did they get #5?? I wish that were true. Someone's mistaking us for Texas..or forgetting the 1 in front of the 5.

TCU is notorious for finding the highest ranking possible and quoting that...regardless of the credibility of the poll. Most accredited polls (Baseball America) have us at #11.

Baylor is a bubble team, so they've got a lot of motivation coming into this week's games, too. Very important W's up for grabs.

Baseball America didn't project the entire bracket, but they did put out a stock report today. They've got the Frogs as a bubble team in terms of hosting a regional...but on the good side of that bubble.

They've also got two MWC teams (us & UNM) making the field, while just one (Rice) from CUSA. I thought moving to the MWC was going to ruin TCU baseball????

Yeah, but I can't find any poll with us that high..and I looked.

has to be a typo.

TV on sunday's game also said our last walk-off home run was by Holladay in 2009..which is also incorrect.

sigh.

That draw would be ridiculously tough. They need to do away with this whole regionally attractive matchups setup for the Super Regionals. It's time to just go to 16 national seeds where they all match up in proper order rather than putting some of the top teams against each other in the Super Regionals and allowing inferior Northern schools to slip in.

That wouldn't suit the Big Ten at all.

UT is playing outrageously well right now. Not a great draw if it goes that way. But I spoke yesterday to someone who is very influential in UT athletic circles, and he claims UT is likewise wary of TCU. He was well aware that TCU's three weekend starters are pitching great, and that's all UT would see in a Super Regional. Those three starters will give us a chance in any series.

I know. And it's completely ridiculous that the NCAA caters to them at all in baseball. By all projections, the only team they'll get in this year is their auto-bid which stands to be #65 Michigan right now.

Year in, year out, Boyd's World's ISR ratings seem to be the most indicative of how good a team is. If it were up to me, I'd be taking the top 16 from that as my 16 national seeds.

Did they mean before Curry's on Saturday? Was there one in between Holaday's against BYU last year and Curry's against UNLV?
