Losing at home last night to UMASS...

The mighty Big 10!

Just goes to show that there are the haves / have nots even in the P2....

Bringing this back to TCU, I think our leadership needs to wake up and figure out what we need to do to not be a complete 'have not' going forward in football. Think we have some of the other sports (especially female) figured out.... But football is a big question mark in my mind.

Not even sure what we can do if big $ people aren't stupid with their $... Don't blame them at all.

If it was up to you, what would you do?

It's not that hard to figure out. Throwing money at TCU football in an attempt to not become a "have not" is asking a heck of a lot from people, because there's a real good chance few will be satisfied where we end up anyway. It's gonna cost people a hell of a lot of money just to be ok.

I honestly don't really care what happens, I can easily move on to something else and while I still watch, my emotional attachment to it all is pretty much gone. I know I'm not, and I wouldn't ever, donate money to this so I don't blame anyone else who doesn't. If we suck I know it's because we don't have the donors and that's fine.

I guess if I were leadership I'd make a decision on whether we can really compete and if not, focus on other sports besides football. Hard to say I guess with the sport being in so much limbo with regards to what it's gonna look like 5-10 years from now but that's how I see it.

With respect you're kinda becoming a broken record on this. We get it. You need money to compete and you think it's dumb. Maybe throw it in your signature or something so you don't have to type it out each time.

I would wait this miserable time out. Everybody seems to be making it up as they go along and we continue to see messy situations arise.

The money disparity among college teams is similar to the absence of a salary cap in some pro sports, before they quickly realized it was needed.

The intent to compensate players quickly turned into a bidding war so schools could find an ultra wealthy benefactor to make the team good overnight.

I think the people giving to NIL (at least some) will quickly get tired of spending their money that way. Pro owners own teams with increasing value; NIL donors pay guys who may assault their teammate and regardless end up with nothing to show for it.

I believe it will be 2-5 years before people get sick of a system where the same schools make the playoffs and the shine is off of the rose relative to inequality, pay for play, etc.

So for now I would try to make the in person experience as good as possible, compete as you can, and wait for things to change.

Personally I still enjoy going to games (in MN in my case, plus a trip to Seattle to see a road game at UW this year). I will likely take an occasional trip to TCU or a TCU road game, along with other road Big Ten games.

But as for watching on TV I've almost lost interest and don't want to support the current system. I barely watched any playoff games last year in protest, and I was OK with that.

OK, but I'm far from the only broken record on here.

And as far as people wondering why we aren't very good, a lot of the thought seem to ignore the obvious thing staring us in the face. We just lost a QB who was going to be one of the better players at his position in the country because we couldn't afford him. The year before we had our best d-lineman taken from us for the same reason. Hello???

Exactly how I look at it. I still want us to be competitive, and I mainly get upset with our self-inflicted wounds when it comes to how our program is managed, with the resources we do have.

There are a lot of schools in the Big 12 and ACC that are far more deserving of Big 10 home games and TV money than Rutgers.

We are gonna be just fine. Here's where we rip off enough wins to make the conference title game.

Nothing is over until Sonny decides to not kick another FG ...

It's the same argument about government spending. People are complaining about the efficiency and waste.

Yet some on here just type out that we need to spend more. That'll fix all the fraud, waste, and abuse. (Aka our coaching staff)

Let’s go for the players retiring from the NFL instead of these young unproven kids. There’s bound to be plenty of eligibility out there. All we need is one judge to rule in our favor.
As i said last fall, TCU should pay attention to international players that are at least 20.

Rutgers got into the Big 10 because allegedly they were going to deliver the NY “cable boxes”. Just like Maryland was going to bring the Baltimore/DC audience They failed miserably because most people in those markets don’t care about CFB

I feel like a fair amount of people there do kinda care about college football but they choose a big name brand like LSU, Michigan, etc. since they're more fun to follow than Rutgers. Kinda how most US soccer fans follow EPL more than MLS.

The people that care are mostly transplants who moved there for jobs There are “team” bars all over NYC Again I have lived in the Northeast all my life and CFB , or college sports in general aren’t that big of a deal (UConn bb being an exception). NYC, Boston, Philly, DC, etc are strictly major league markets
