Pretty cool, ROTC scholarship girl chose TCU. At least we have one commit on TV.
Isn't the word "scholarship" used incorrectly when referring to a ROTC/Military scholarship.
I think it's a bit of a rip to give one a "scholarship" and then REQUIRE X# of years service in the end (or they can CHARGE one cash money-a debt one must PAY BACK, if person doesn't heed their requirements or if one gets kicked out /thrown out of college in the meantime.)
They parade this poor girl out - as to that THEY (US government) are doing a wonderful thing for this young lady - it's really just a jobs program in reverse.
Come to think of it, Athletic "scholarships" (full-rides) aren't real scholarships either...there's a qid pro quo - one must perform athletically or no funds.
A real SCHOLARSHIP is one that has no strings attached - One get it for their academics, citizenship or promise of leadership. It should be FREE money...more government deceit.
