I for one enjoy the game . . . and one of my favorite parts is that scoring is so rare

As we discussed in our Friday meeting, if that ref had made the same call against some loser country such as Colombia he would no longer be walking on this earth.

We don't care and lucky for him, soccer is a loser sport and the world is full of losers....

Soccer is a good game. I do care. The ref is indeed lucky that American soccer fans are known more for jubilance than violence.

Sic the NCAA on him.

THAT will make him rue the day.

They might make him vacate some penalties.

I have warmed up to soccer over the last few years and actually enjoy watching it more than baseball. Baseball has way too much time when absolutely nothing is going on. Way too much standing around. Maybe as I'v gotten older I can't pay attention to anything unless there's movement. Of course, if it's the Frogs playing, then I'm intensely interested but I would rather to see the TCU girls soccer team play than haul my butt out to a Rangers game.

You're right we don't care at all. That's why today's game is the lead story on EVERY major sports show in the country.

Agreed...I was a starting pitcher in highschool and watched far too many games between starts to enjoy it anymore

No, the reason is because it was over so early in the day. As soon as baseball scores started rolling in, it was 4th story at best.

If it would've happened during the Taxes Saves the World melodrama, it might have gotten bumped to after the commercial break.

Soccer is as boring as watching men jog around a huge field, apparently for little reason.

Damn Feisty, sometimes its best to remain silent and be thought the fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

I actually have always took the Jim Rome stance on soccer until this World Cup. Probably because I never really watched it and didn't completely understand the game. I have watched most of the games of this WC and have really enjoyed them. Doubt I will watch a single game after this WC until the next one, but I for sure am a fan right now.

If you've enjoyed this tournament then I'm afraid you may be a fan for life. The quality of the games so far has been almost uniformly poor. The US-Slovenia game was surely the most entertaining one. I don't even have a guess as to which has been the best-played game. Just wait until the Round of 16...
