Are we chickening out vs. Dallas Baptist?

I highly doubt that we are dodging DBU. The reason the tarp wasn't on the field is that the team was in Utah for four days, leaving no one to put the tarp out on Friday. It takes 15 people, minimum, to get it out and get it back in. I also believe that leaving the tarp on the field for 48 hours would not be good for the grass (just guessing at that), so even if 15 guys could have gotten it out on Friday, they would have eventually had to remove it - maybe before the rain had stopped.

We need a groundskeeper to jump into this mystery.

So did we do this on purpose to dodge Dallas Baptist?

Why would they schedule DBU in the first place if they didn't really want to play them?

To make it look like we weren't ducking a team like DBU ... then make it rain really bad so we can get out of it. Genious.

Baptists have burned down our school before, so we keep the grounds extra moist as a precautionary measure anytime we're expecting a visit. Can't trust those bastages, even if it means raining out a game ...

New to this board but I am disappointed the game is cancelled vs. DBU. One of my son's lifelong friends plays for DBU and I was excited to come watch him play vs. the school I graduated from and sense something fishy.

I drove by the field yesterday and saw that there was no tarp on the field at all despite it having rained all day. Why would they not put tarp on the field? My son's friend and his dad think that TCU is afraid to play DBU again since DBU already beat them once and losing to DBU again could be costly, so they "forgot" to put down the tarp on the field. He pointed out how DBU 2 years ago was supposed to play Texas in Austin and the game was "rained out" despite it not raining at all within 24 hours of the game's start time and Austin having an artificial playing surface. The truth obviously was Texas was afraid to face DBU that year since DBU was a strong independent team.

For all purposes though there is no valid legitamite excuse for the tarp not to be down on the field when its raining ESPECIALLY when there is a scheduled game the next day. So did we do this on purpose to dodge Dallas Baptist?

Nobody calls me...chicken!

That was a tough ride to the airport Saturday morning, but spending time with this group of kids Friday night (until curfew) was worth the early exit. Steven and the guys had a good laugh over my planning abilities. This is the nicest, most compatable group I have ever seen. Got back in time to see the BYU broadcast, which was actually better than I expected.

I'll agree to miss every game for the rest of the year if we just keep winning! Starting with tomorrow vs. OU.

Thanks, Top! They are all healthy, and seem to be finding the strike zone more frequently. Let's keep it going!

Yes the #10 team in the country is terrified of DBU and we are thanking God in heaven above that they don't have a football team because we might have to think of some "legitamite" reason to not play them in that sport.

Isn't that stuff made in Australia? Goes well on toast...
