Virginia QB Chandler Morris files lawsuit against the NCAA seeking 7th of year eligibility

By Associated Press

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Virginia quarterback Chandler Morris continued his fight for a seventh season of eligibility by filing a lawsuit against the NCAA, his agent, Simon Pflum, confirmed Tuesday.

The NCAA denied Morris' medical redshirt waiver and appeal last month, and he is seeking a preliminary injunction in Charlottesville Circuit Court.

Morris could be making an argument similar to Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who received a preliminary injunction from a Mississippi judge on Feb. 12. Chambliss’ case was based on injuries severely limiting his playing time and not allowing him to make the most of his athletic eligibility.

The 25-year-old Morris applied for a medical redshirt for the 2022 season at TCU after suffering a knee injury. The NCAA denied that request after Morris made limited appearances in three games later that season.

“As additional lawsuits challenging common-sense, academically tied eligibility rules are filed, the NCAA will continue to defend against attempts to rob high school students across the nation of the opportunity to compete in college and experience the life-changing opportunities only college sports can create,” the NCAA said in a statement.

It’s good to be a college athlete. Might be the highest paying gig he can get next year.

Has me thinking with guys going pro then returning to college what former Horned Frog would want back at TCU as a player?

Was I supposed to type something here?
"...only took 26 snaps as a part of a mental health treatment plan" eh? I don't remember anything about a "mental health treatment plan" in the '22 Season, but I do remember he was NAMED THE STARTER over Max, and had he not been a fragile porcelain mouse and gotten hurt after the first two quarters of the first game of the season, I imagine he'd have taken a few more snaps than that.

So much litigation going on in college football now, for various reasons, but one thing is a common denominator: money.

I read that Cincinnati is suing Sorsby for $1,000,000 bucks for a breach of his NIL contract. This is an exit fee. I hope they win. With the amount of money these student (I use that word lightly) athletes are making they need to learn what a contract means. You want the bigger bucks to leave then pay the piper.

I would assume in the end this money will be paid by Tech (Mr. Campbell). I hope Tech stinks next year big time.

The lawsuits will amplify over the next 3-4 years(5-10 times) because of the mentality of players like C Morris. On one hand I don't blame him for attempting to circumvent the CFL and UFL where is where he belongs. On the other hand, Trinidad Chambliss & Pavia played in inferior conferences and were severely damaged according to the judges/courts.

Problem is, similar to the Tarriff ruling by the SOCU, highly educated judges don't have a real grip on what is going on on the ground with serious social issues.

I DO NOT trust judges to make these landmark decisions. Most of these judges are inept and inadequate. Over 150 judges roughly (out of 230) appointed by Biden were black females.

Who is judging the judges?????
