"Under the 10-plus-one plan, Notre Dame would play a full ACC schedule, the people told AP, speaking on condition of anonymity because talks are still ongoing and details have not been disclosed. Whether those games would count in the standings and the Irish would be eligible to participate in the ACC championship game - and be eligible for the conference's guaranteed spot in the Orange Bowl - is still to be determined. The final decision could come down to how revenue is shared between the conference and school, one of the people said."

The ACC is ND's little [ hundin]. "We might consider joining the ACC for football but only for as long as it suits us. Soon as we don't need you anymore for scheduling we'll kick you right back to the curb. Sound okay?"

Notre Lame thinks they are a massive brand. They have become barely relevant. I am tired of hearing about their schedule. It is weak! They want all the benefits of a conference without having to be a team player. These conferences need to stand up to Notre Lame and tell them you are either completely with us or not in the conference. The schools need to tell Notre Lame no more games as an independent until you join a conference.

BYU thinks they are Notre Lame, but they are basically Baylor. Just crap all the way through.

Notre Dame is a great school. It has a lot of winning tradition and historical football coaches and players. They bring mass viewership thus get to negotiate terms. I wish TCU had that history and tradition of winning that had built a generational fanbase. I think TCU is building a generational fanbase, it would get a huge boost if TCU could win a conference title and national championship. Then TCU could be in known brand conversations like the private universities of Miami and Notre Dame.

However, with all the conference conversations, Notre Dame is the golden goose that is really a Trojan horse. Big 12 really got screwed when TCU and WVU joined (they could of expanded further not just these schools who were football champions in their respective conferences). Big 12 had an opportunity to bring in universities such as Louisville, Clemson, and Florida State at one point but UT AD relationship with ND and Big 12 were focused on bringing in that golden goose. Meanwhile, ESPN who owns ACC (contract for all games in all sports, no sharing with another network) and LHN making suggestions to UT admin while dealing behind Big 12. They were not only making deals with Clemson and FSU but getting Notre Dame sports (but ND football) a deal with the ACC (even promising ACC/ND a network deal which happened). Going after the golden goose almost destroyed the Big 12. Luckily Chuck Neinas saved the day and made a Sugar Bowl deal with the champion of the Big 12 vs. the champion of the SEC (if not in the playoffs). That saved Big 12. Going after that golden goose again for Big 12 would be a mistake. Seems like ESPN is going to get Notre Dame football in the ACC some way as originally planned from the start and have Big 12 stiffed armed with now owning more than just LHN (and a good # of Big 12 games of choice shared with Fox) of the Big 12.
