Another HCGMFP Rumor

Auburn was already in Fort Worth earlier this week on Tuesday. Following their trip to Fort Worth the plane went up to Boise. Pretty sure he's already interviewed, as well as Peterson. Neither are going to Auburn, no way.

That whole thing was a rouse, the Boise flight never actually happened. Just somebody who had some random flights that lined up with rumors.

In the business world, you always take meetings when someone who wants to offer you something or discuss an opportunity as long as it is within reason. It is bad business not to.

For Gary Patterson, his world is pretty dang small now as far as his next employer (if there ever is one). You never know what tomorrow brings and you never want to burn bridges or act ungracious. Of course he's going to meet with these schools if they ask for a meeting. Probably [hundinnen ] to his wife about a stupid dinner he has to go to with the Auburn folks beforehand.

Wow, thanks for posting that. Never met the man would sure like to.

I was blessed to get to shake CGP's hand by way of introduction from Royce Renfro (senior) at the Houston Touchdown Club a few years ago.

He was very cordial until Royce told him I was a member of the media. Then his whole attitude changed instantly.

I don't think Coach uses the words "trust" and "media" in the same sentence - ever!

I loved his speech, though...

Go Frogs!

The only thing UT can offer GP is more money, and I bet TCU would step up if necessary. GP might use it to get his assistants more. But he is already in a BCS conference, in the Big 12, positioned to win the Big 12 over the next few years and possibly make the BCS title game in the very near future. Not to mention all in a great city and on a better campus, stadium he basically built and in a new house to live in with his lovely FW wife.

I probably disagree with this. UT, regardless of what they've done with it over the last 10 years, does have first choice of talent in the state of Texas. I'm with you on everything else, but the fact that he would have access to whatever players he wants would have to at least be intriguing. Of course, the politics of the UT athletic department and university administration (I am very familiar with this subject and can't emphasize it enough), the LHN, etc. would create plenty of challenges in their own respect that are non-existent here at TCU.
