Was I supposed to type something here?
Well technically TCU Athletics already had access to more wealth than Cody Campbell has, but the administration chose to alienate literally 90% of them and hasn’t won them back over to this day. Oops…

Chump change compared to throwing away the season. TCU has lost season ticket holders and fans every year since 2022. Big boys have to make big hard decisions. The only thing worse than pissing away $2MM is pissing away $20MM worrying about the $2MM you already wasted.
The $2 million is gone. The donors (those still hanging around, at least) were sold a bill of goods by Sonny and company, and Mr. Harvard is a bust. $2 million that could have been put to good use elsewhere was pissed away on him, when we had decent talent here already. A couple of good D-Line guys? Couple of good blockers? Naah! We want a mobile QB that's smart, has legs and uses them, and a laser cannon for an arm! NIL donors listened to Sonny's pitch for this clown, and wrote the check.

So, now what?

Due to Sonny's usual talent assessment skills, his great QB find is revealed to be a bust the moment he is unveiled before the Donors, Fans, and gathered Sports World. Bravo, Sonny! Another masterpiece!

With this latest, and ongoing fiasco, why would donors bother to open up their wallets for Sonny's Next Discovery? What lame nag will hobble into the paddock next, with Sonny telling us that it's a real winner this time? Sonny has burned a lot of bridges already, and now he's set fire to even more.

I know you have me on ignore because you're a coward, so you won't see this, but good grief, you're just a complete ass.

And in case you missed it some of the oldest moldiest money was pissed off at the GP firing by AD Brilesbag.
I didn't miss that at all. When the oldest, moldiest money guys get cozy with a coach and think they know best and want to call the shots you're screwed either way, so it's not like maintaining the status quo to appease them was a good option either.

I've said it before and people deny it, but 2022 must have been REALLY uncomfortable for some of those people. Dykes had almost zero chance with them.

I hope that I'm wrong, but I don't believe this is a situation where a QB has a rough start like Arch Manning, Greg McElroy, Brett Favre, Andy Dalton and many others had. A couple of the statements that I don't like are " It is what it is" & " If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck...." may be appropriate with Craig.

QB talent assessment is difficult. It is easy for coaches/scouts to skunk it up. 2 of the worst QBs I've seen at the NFL combine were Joe Fagnano(UCONN !!!) & Behren Morton(TTech). Both of these guys made final NFL rosters a few days ago. We all know who Fagnano was coached by. There are things that CFB fans don't see that coaches do. There are odd QB things that can be scientifically tracked like tight spirals and arm release angle that were not looked at that hard 8-10 years back.

It has been in the back of my mind what we watched last Saturday and what it reminded me of. Many of the throws during Jameis Winston's 2019 season looked like Craig's. Winston ended up have Lasik to correct a vision problem prior to joining the Saints. It was noted that Craig did have an underthrow problem on deep balls in Spring and then some overthrow issues in Fall camp.

When I entered Grad school, i had 20/20 and when I left, I needed close to coke bottle corrective lenses. Economics coursework will do that to you.

tl;dr

We just extended the guy, what are we even to do? We’re already the laughing stock of college football, imagine adding to the list canning a guy mere months after extending him.

We’re a Mickey Mouse program.
that's simply not true. tcu is not a "laughing stock of college football." it's obviously easy to feel that way after unc/ireland. i get that having watched the same over there last year. but it's more than a bit of hyperbole saying that after game one.

Exactly. It's one game. We lost, and we're very most likely gonna lose another one we all think we should win, just like we do in about 75% of our seasons. And to be honest, very few people outside of this area give two [ Finebaum ]s about TCU football, whether we are good or bad.

And to the idiots that are saying we can't get rid of Sonny because we just extended his contract, stop being an idiot. If we can't get out of that contract, we should just stop trying to be competitive in football, because that is chump money relative to what it will cost on an annual basis to keep up with the better funded programs.

Are you aware that KSU has the best season record of any team in last decade(6 wins i think) that played in Ireland?

Do you believe in the "Ireland Curse"

After rewatching the play the safety was closing fast Because the play was a reverse rollout to the left, he was 8-10 yards deep behind the line of scrimmage.

He whiffed on a easy toss to the wide open TE in the flat. If he runs, he better be a "MaxDuggan tough SOB" to run the safety over. His mistake wasn't not running. It was not taking the easy throw to the TE.
Thanks. I only saw that view from tv.
