makes me puke...but do I want ND as national champs. Will conquer with my alter ego.
Notre Dame winning the MNC game is worse than SEC winning it. Why? Because ND gets to make their own scheduling rules as an "independent"; they don't play in a conference; get to play home games and take in all of the money on a network that only plays their games; they have automatic large fan base because most all Catholics (not me) adopt them as their team; recruiting advantage because every game on national TV (not to mention all the ND movies that are on TV that also create an unfair recruiting advantage); back 10-20 years ago when they would finish 8-4 they would still be ranked No. 16 or so; and worst of all, THEY THINK THEY'RE BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL EVEN WHEN THEY FINISH 5-7.
So, tell 2314, WHY THE (craig james) would ANYONE root for this self-centered, self-important school that the NCAA for some reason treats differently than others?

To create doubt and open minds. When minds are small and closed, we all lose.

I loath ND. I am praying for Georgia to win the SEC, bama and nd in the mnc is a nightmare.

There is no way ND should be able to call their own shots like they do.

It sounds like you just described the SEC to me. Plus, when one SEC team wins, 13 other do too. When ND wins, it's only one team that reaps the rewards.

Go Irish.

Some of you people just don't get it.

I guess I don't... I mean, the SEC is the epitome of annoying "fan base" to me, except it extends to an entire region of the country. I don't mind Alabama telling me how good they are. But I don't want to hear an Auburn fan brag about how good Alabama is. Much less a Tennessee or Vanderbilt fan tell me about how tough the SEC is.

SEC needs to lose. And if ND does it, then no other conference gets to beat their chest about it. Win-win.

No other conference gets the do-over the SEC gets. At least ND is undefeated. You can lose two games, against a weaker schedule and still be the NC if you are in the SEC. Disgusting. Also disgusting for someone who is not the conference champion to play in the NC game. If that is unfair, then form your own conference, instead of expand, have an easier schedule, and still claim to be the NC.

Remember how we have heard year after year how TCU is not that great due to the overall strength of schedule, how anybody can win just one game? How is that different for the SEC? Let's say Georgia wins tomorrow. They have a regular season record of 11-1, against a schedule of 11 FBS teams who went 63-69. If Kansas State wins they will have a record of 11-1, against a schedule of 11 FBS teams who went 73-59. What happens to "the body of work vs just one game" argument applied to TCU all these years? ND played 12 FBS teams who went (at worst, Pitt has not played #12 yet) 80-64. Doesn't make sense does it?

The B12 sent a non-conference championship game participant to the national title game a few years back as I recall.

Also, if you want to know why the SEC is so freaking successful and avoided the problems of the SWC? Because they do support each other. If SWC fans and programs acted like SEC fans and programs it never would have fallen apart. Some people need to get over all their "battered spouse issues" and realize we are in a big boy conference. We are a HAVE, not a have not now. Some point soon the B12 will be in a position where 2 of the 4 teams in the playoff are ours. Will it be fair then or a bunch of BS favoritism?
