I co-own a record label, Trigger Happy Records (co-owned with my dad, Frog DJ, and our friend and business partner, sheltone60), which we're just getting off the ground. We've been working with a country artist from DFW named Blu Swayze and are just about set to release his album early next year. We're trying to pick a single to promote to radio and we've got it narrowed down to two tracks. So I ask YOU, KF.c, which one we should push to radio. Just take a listen to the two tracks following the link below and respond here in the thread telling us which song (Hometown or Everything's Coming Around) you like better. Your votes will be added to Facebook polling done by the artist and members of the record label for a final tally. Thanks!!!!!

You know, there's a local singer/songwriter who is a regular on this site who could benefit from a record label... and he would assuredly carry y'all to new heights.

I think Everything's Comin' Round is the better written song, but for radio, Hometown would make the better first single to introduce the artist.

Okay.

As you know I'm a rock guy not a country guy. That being said - good production, good recording. He has a good voice, the music is fairly flawless. All that's to be expected. Hometown is my preference. It got me singing the chorus a bit. It's not that Everything's Coming Round is a bad song at all. In fact, I slightly prefer its guitar solo, and if the purest audience is any indication, the little man (1 yr 8 months) who lives with us started dancing to that one.

But Hometown to me has that je ne se quoi that made me want to listen as a non-country fan while I got just a tad antsy on ECR. I like Hometown's message and lyrical content. It's a good romantic song. Chicks will dig it, especially the part about settling down.

I'm not on fb anymore so please accept my vote this way. You really can't go wrong with either.

Out of sheer selfish curiosity, any consideration around future plans to expand genres?

Well done guys.

He's talkin' bout snoski, I'm almost certain. And I give that a big +1

EDIT - J-Sauce if you were self-referencing I apologize for my ignorance. Would love to hear you play as well.

Nah man, you were right. He and I used to play music together back in the good ol days at TCU (4ish years ago). I used to slappa da bass mon.

I do play and sing as well. But playing and singing well is a different story... at least not well enough to deserve record label attention haha

We are open to all genres - Blu was just the first artist we signed.

We will have exciting news to announce after the first of the year.

Thanks for all the feedback (the more - the better) and interest in our project.

Go Frogs!

We may come talk to you soon. But we're perfectionists. It's not there yet.

I'm more of an Alt-Country guy, but I enjoyed the songs. Hometown is the better song, but Eveything's Comin' Round is the single. It's what they call "radio-friendly".
