Oddsmakers View Stanford As Major Underdogs Against TCU​

Stanford will be starting their first season in the ACC with a big matchup against a Big 12 foe, and it's looking like they'll have to pull off a serious upset to get the season started on a high note. As per DraftKings, the Cardinal are 10.5-point underdogs to get the win, even at home.

TCU had a really tough season after making the college football playoff in 2022, going just 5-7 as a litany of talent left Fort Worth. Still, Stanford grades as one of the worst Power Four teams by most metrics, so it's no surprise that they're double-digit home underdogs to start the season.

True. Last year also featured the confidence amongst the Frog Nation that our Crack Staff would have things all tuned up and ready to go...

Now, that confidence is shattered and we fans have no patience left. A loss to The Tree out on the coast (which would be an embarrassing loss, but not as embarrassing as last years swan-dive into the empty pool...) would start the fire under Sonny's ass. And it would be well deserved.

It’s not ideal for a young team with 45 new players to open the season with an 1,800 mi. road trip to a low level P5 school. Anything could happen.
There is nothing to win here, but we can’t afford to lose.
TCU must win at least 3 of the first 4 games to have a good positive season.
