Saw this posted on FB and just had to laugh...

"A bill that would require the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University to face each other on the football field every year was filed on Monday by state Rep.Ryan Guillen, D-Rio Grande City.

The two flagship universities had a longstanding football rivalry, playing each other every year from 1914 until this past season. That all came to an end in 2012 following A&M's move to the Southeastern Conference."

This is a good idea. Alabama and Auburn are required to play, why not UT/A&M? It's always a pretty good game to watch.

Should have known an Aggie would try something like this.

I'm fine with the bill. They're taxpayer funded institutions. If the taxpayers want to see them play then they should play.

There's a 10 page thread on Texags with nothing but pissed off ags. This liberal democrat has nothing better to do than submit a bill regarding football? Thank god the legislature only meets every two years.

I didn't think anything could make me care one way or the other about this bill, but I find myself now wholeheartedly supporting it. The meltdown on TexAgs would be legendary.

Other fun Texas laws still on the books:

1. You cannot milk another man's cow. (TWSS)

2. You cannot take more than 3 sips of beer while standing up in a saloon.

3. You cannot own, nor promote the use of, more than 6 dildo's at one time.

4. You cannot murder someone.

My thought is pass a law that ut and ATM are required to play every year using the Spartacus - Blood and Sand Rules in a home and home series.

First game of the year, Thursday night, opening game, ESPN broadcast.

One year the home team gets to be the Romans and the next year the escaped Gladiators and slaves.

Weapons must be manufactured by the students over the summer.

Bonfire after the game allows for easy clean up of the carnage.

A special fan participation section can be fenced off and the 12th Man can go after the drunk ut wranglers.

Heck, I'd watch that for a few minutes before switching to a rerun of Ol Yeller on the Disney Channel.

Who says law cannot be fun????
