Absolutely the worst screw job ever by Officials

This game was the worst one-sided corrupt officiating I have ever seen.

How about #71 for OU punching not once, but 3 times our player and doesn't get ejected.

OU holds the entire freakin game, but what is the 1 offensive holding call? The one where TCU ties the game.

Oh, then there is the field goal we made that was called no good.

Despite all this, our OC could have had us in the lead if he had the play calling in the first half that was any where close to the second half. He needs to go!

Also, we have a freshman offensive lineman that words fail to describe his bone-head plays.

Agree on half of this, except the Foltz hold and the FG. Field goal turn in AFTER it past the post, although very close, it was good after it passed the post. It is typical for not every hold to get called in football, too much going on the field for the refs to see every instance of a hold. However, with Foltz's hold, it was extremely obvious and right next to the ball carrier, hence a no-brainer call.

Cry me a freaking river. Stop somebody and make a play. TCU had a chance to tie at the end of the game. The real thing holding this team back is QB. Oh and our lack of home field advantage. It's non existent.

Look, I'm not one that ever gets too upset with officials but dude, who made you the fan police? You state the obvious about our QB issues but you choose to ignore the circumstances in which that penalty was called while giving them the ok for allowing OU's #69 to repeatedly get away (one on McFarland that sprung the OU back for a TD run) with it? Or #71 getting to stay in the game after mounting Maponga and throwing several punches? Do you feel that if say Fry did that he would get the same benefit? If so then you aren't paying attention. Go watch the game again and then come back and tell me you thought the officiating was even handed, consistent today. There were at least three occasions with OU holds just as blatant, just as bad, just as in the open that were ignored. I think that everybody's gripe is fair. We aren't asking for special favors, just for consistency.

Agreed.

PowerofPurple - congrats on your hall monitor assignment this weekend. I've read more holier than thou posts from you [Rod Gilmore] about fans, than I've seen fans [Rod Gilmore] about the refs.

If they had called OU for holding early on like they should have, Jones is likely sacked 4 or 5 times. Because they refused to call any holding on OU they continued to do for the test of the game in front of the officials.

To only call TCU for holding on the most critical play of the game shows extreme bias, considering ever refusal to call it on OU.

Not sure how many sacks we would have ended up with but I am pretty sure that OU doesn't score their third TD (the long run) if their LT doesn't hold McFarland.

OU held pretty badly all game long and we had some holds that weren't called also. That's ok. What's not ok is to wait until our game tying play to remember that you have a flag and it's all the sudden time to call holding. For me to believe there was no bias then I'd have to be convinced that he didn't see one holding infraction the entire game until THAT PLAY and I'm not convinced of that. He chose to let countless other holds go throughout the game and then chose that moment to make a call. Foltz's discretion was no more egrigious than numerous others so why then?

I understand the title of the thread as it relates to the immediacy of the situation, but I cannot declare it as "the worst screw job ever." Seen worse....

Look people, they already had the Big XII trophy, championship hats, t-shirts, etc. in the locker room and the conference wasn't going to let some newcomer ruin it for the Sooners & cost the Big XII another BCS game.

Agreed. LOTS of holding going on all game long. To make only one call (at such an important time in the game) is at best, inconsistent.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist and I'm not about to say the refs cost us the game - who knows what would have happened. But it was unfortunate that an otherwise extremely competitive game was affected by inconsistency and missed calls.

HCGP had a pretty biting comment regarding no holds being called all game until last series on TCU in post game press conference that I saw on Channel 5 later.

He was pretty tame on the radio post game and I was surprised as he had plenty of reason to be spitting fire. What did he say?

How do I find Jesse Palmer's email address?

I want to ask him the difference in the holding called during Boykin's TD vs the hold that wasn't called on OU's long TD run. He talked about how the OU running back "was not even touched by anyone" when ESPN was going over the OU highlights of our game.

There are special times or unique instances when a referee completely just costs a game or whatever (i.e. Seattle vs. Green Bay NFL game this season with the replacement refs), but this isn't one of those games. Blaming the referees is bush league and makes us sound like a bunch of whiney bitter brats. I can come back with what ifs if the team played better on certain plays that could've affected the outcome of the game just as much. Teams that win find ways to play through and get past any bad or questionable calls.

Which bad or questionable calls went against OU?

Not sure, but again that response above make you and people in here sound like bitter whiney brats thinking the refs screwed us over when we could've played better and that could've affected the outcome just as much or more.

Blaming the refs is a cop out.

Again, teams that win find ways to play through any questionable calls.
