I'm looking forward to this game about even more than I looked forward to the 2005 OU game and only slightly less than the Rose Bowl.

So many storylines like you listed above! Also - CP4's return...this is going to be massive!

This game probably comes down to if Casey Pachall is playing QB and if our OLine is at least average. Going to need both of those to work out.

Oh and no drug busts.

LSU can stuff the run because that's what they do in the SEC. CP gives TCU the best passing attack which will beat the Tigers. Other games later in year may require more ball control and thus a better run game. However, game one must go with CP.

I had a guy stop me in the airport before the OU game. I had a TCU cap on. Said he was an LSU alum and booster (older guy with LSU NC rings) and that TCU was his BIG 12 team that he pulled for. Said the Frogs style reminded him the most of the SEC.

To echo what others have said, Casey Pachall's return is probably more vital for the LSU game than any other game next season. Any sort of zone read run offense we have with Trevone Boykin will likely be stuffed by LSU's typical elite defensive line (plus, TCU will be breaking in a new interior offensive line). In addition, LSU usual has the top secondary in the country, so they should be able to take away all the easy throws and make passing very hard.

CP4's ability to make quick reads, throw off his back foot in the face of pressure, and make NFL type throws into tight coverage will literally be the difference between TCU having an offense or not. Only way to have success against an elite college defense like LSU is to have an NFL caliber QB, which is what Casey Pachall is.

I like Trevone Boykin, but I'm just not sure if a TCU offense with Boykin at the helm matches up very well with LSU's defense. I think our chances in the game are dramatically less without Pachall.

Couldn't agree more.

Assuming Casey is back, does Patterson announce his starter before the game? or leave Miles guessing?

Actually, I think I know Patterson and I think this might be a dumb question....

Patterson will announce a starter and it will be a sudden positional change of moving Dominic Merka back to QB to start against LSU.

I don't think TCU will be top 15. Top 25, but not 15.

Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, Oregon, A&M, and Florida will be getting most of the pre-season attention.
