Jamie Plunkett
TCU traded in turkey for Gator on Thanksgiving afternoon in San Diego, knocking off No. 10 Florida, 84-80 in the first game of the Rady Children's Invitational at Jenny Craig Pavillion.
The win was TCU's first against a Top 10 non-conference opponent since 1986, when the Horned Frogs beat No. 6 Oklahoma, 95-82. Current head coach Jamie Dixon was a player for the Frogs in that contest. Dixon finished with a game-high 28 points, earning the All College Basketball Tournament's most valuable player award.
Brock Harding did his best Dixon impression on Thursday, recording a 19-point, 12-assist double-double for the Frogs, including 13 second-half points that helped TCU seal the victory. The double-double was Harding's fourth of his career and first as a Horned Frog.
