TCU MBB Earns Commitment from Top European Prospect Ricards Aizpurs​

Jamie Dixon and Co. have landed a major commitment from overseas, as guard Ricards Aizpurs has pledged to the Horned Frogs.

Aizpurs, a 17-year-old from Gulbene, Latvia, played for Stella Azzurra Roma, a prestigious youth basketball club based in Rome. He averaged 33.6 points per game in Italian U17 competition, while also scoring 18 points per game at the U18 level as a 16-year-old.

Stats for league play was in the 18-33 ppg range. One Adidas Eurocamp he attended he scored 7.7, shooting 50%. Pretty sure that is an elite showcase camp, not league play.

It can not be stated enough that this kid is very good. If he played here he would be a top 50 rated player. He should carve out a nice role for himself this season.
