TCU falls to North Carolina 15-10, heavy offensive struggles​

TCU offense struggles as the Frogs fall to underdog North Carolina; 15-10.​

Dublin, Ireland – TCU came into the 2026 with high expectations for a revamped offense and many starters returning on defense. Unfortunately, it was the worst opening game performance by the Frogs since Sonny Dykes took over as coach in 2022 as the Frogs fell to North Carolina, 15-10 in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic.

TCU was heavily favored in the game and was just outside the top 25 in the preseason while North Carolina was picked to finish 15th in the ACC.

Penalties killed the Frogs as they racked up 11 penalties for 100 yards.

Pass defense gave up big third down plays but overall played well giving up 90 rushing yards and 15 points. That should be a winning effort.

Payne ran for 142 yards. That is a positive.

Hopefully Sammis and Craig get things adjusted. If our next half of offensive football looks like that again we need to see if Schobel can provide a spark.
