247 Sports: TCU Baseball Misses NCAA Tournament

Blowing a 9-3 lead at OSU on Sunday and having your bullpen give up 7 runs in two innings on Saturday is getting bombed in my opinion.
Don't know why CKS took out Davis and brought in LaPour on Saturday.
Also not walking the guy who ended up hitting his third home run on Friday at Stillwater was a strange move.
No. Ya'll are hung up on the wrong thing. Same reason ya'll aren't the coach. This team was talented enough to be in position to win, but they weren't good enough or tough enough or coached well enough to seal the deal. There's a big difference

My question, not being a complete baseball geek, is whether preseason projections were realistic based on the roster. If expectations were reasonable, then what should they be for next year? KS has had what, 3 years now? You can write off one season like this, but consistently underperforming (if that’s what has happened) isn’t acceptable.
Second question: Are our facilities holding us back? I hate the spending race in college sports, but if we don’t keep up, not sure why an AD or fanbase would be in position to demand top-tier results.
I don’t think new or enhanced stadium has much to do with under performing slumps erratically weak bats and no motivation or leadership. Too much talent that whiffed the ball like freshman highschool. We are better and must get our act together. Hit pitch catch and throw or ride the pine. Coach and get performance or look for another landing. Go frogs let’s turn this around

Was I supposed to type something here?

With this swan dive, I think we can forget about a new stadium for the time being.

I can't count the amount of times Frog hitter have been at a count of 2-2 or 3-2 and stood there and took strike three then looked at the umpire like that was a ball.
The Frogs just don't protect the plate in those situations.
Wish there was a stat somewhere of TCU's batting average with the bases loaded. Even better a percentage of balls in plays versus strikeouts with the bases loaded.

Would love to know our BA with 2 strikes. But what does it matter? Batting average is irrelevant now.

Facilities attract talent along with NIL. No is not the time to hold back or else the program could really go into a slide.

We may have good player facilities but we have some dumpy fan facilities and that does matter to kids. Even when we go to DBU they look out in the stands and it looks clean pleasant...not some erector set with seats that wake up the neighborhood during the 7th inning stretch like we have.

I don’t remember fans bitching about that when we were in the CWS multiple times under coach Schloss, do you? We were happy because we won a lot of games. The biggest issue for us is that we are mediocre. Are we really using Lipton as an excuse for our mediocrity now?

Come on.

Barely any of the team is from Texas now. I saw a ranking of percentage of rosters from Texas for programs in TX. TCU was basically last with only 32% from Texas.
Is there a "strategic" reason for this? I'd think having a bunch of dudes from around TX would help from a culture standpoint.

Winning is the main thing and some will always complain, but that was 10 years ago. Lupton was great when it was built (20 odd years ago) but if we want to compete for SEC level talent then we need nicer facilities.

I don't know if they upgraded the facility but UCLA's stadium was pathetic by even high school standards when I was out there for the 2012 super regional. They trounced us that year and won the CWS the next year.

Better facilities would be nice but better coaching would be even nicer.

Exactly. UCLA plays in a rather pedestrian stadium, yet they are the number one seed. Imagine that :))))

So I guess no news or comments in the last 48 hours from anyone in the athletic department or head coach regarding this disastrous baseball season means no changes incoming.

I really want to believe that we can fix it w a hitting coach and some upgrades to Lupton. Really want to see Sarloos succeed but I fear he is following GPs footsteps.
Let’s roll out some new uniforms too! That’ll help!
Happy Amazing Race GIF
