TCU 2025 Signing Day HQ

It's signing day! Follow along with each signee the Frogs land on Wednesday!

JEREMY CLARK

Signing day is finally here! The Frogs have secured 20 commitments for their class which currently ranks No. 38 in the nation and No.7 in the Big 12. The Frogs have hit on many position needs for the class.

The class has secured a quarterback, two running backs, three receivers, three offensive linemen, two tight ends, four defensive linemen, one linebacker, one cornerback, two safeties and a long snapper in the class.

The class boasts five four-stars either according to 247Sports or the composite rankings, led by four-star edge rusher Carter Buck, who is the highest-ranked prospect in the class ranked as the No. 183 prospect in the nation according to 247Sports rankings. In addition to Buck, safety Jason Bradford, running back Amante Martin, offensive lineman Vincent Johnson Jr. and defensive lineman Jesse Ford all earned four-star honors.

The class isn't completely full as there are a few targets expected to make decisions on Wednesday, and a couple of flip candidates are worth keeping an eye on.

Follow along with signing day as we update throughout the day when each prospect signs.

There are 5 offensive lineman on a 22 man team, but this freshman class only has 3 of 21 commits. OLine again maybe not the emphasis it should be.

They have added 5th-year senior transfer OL, Noah McKinney, from Oklahoma State, but he will be gone after the 2026 season and being he has only played in 11 games the last two seasons (7 in 2025) he may be injury prone, so be wary of counting on him for 2026.

Six Big 12 schools have commits with a higher average ranking and I am not counting Colorado because they only have 10 commits.

Based on that and the high school class bing ranked 38th instead of the 20’s makes this Dyke’s worst recruiting class by ranking.

This is concerning. The 2022 success and Gary Patterson’s legendary reputation are no longer helping recruiting.

Tony Elliott at Virginia signed the 91st rated class. You should be concerned with that.

Yeah, I didn't really think "Gary Patterson's legendary reputation" was going to be a boon to our recruiting. Not only does he no longer coach here, but his last two classes were duds. What a strange add to your post.

Jeepers, Wex can’t resist taking a shot at Patterson, and that is “strange.”

Over his career, Gary Patterson lifted the Frogs recruiting rankings from the 50’s and 60’s, or worse, to the 40’s and then the 30’s and 20’s. He did that with his success building the Frogs to a winner, a big part being his savvy identifying, developing and some repositioning of talent. This was a remarkable lift from the cellar of rankings and he then overachieved with them, having teams finish with 6 AP Top 10 rankings including a #2 and #3 and 12 Top 25 rankings. Nothing is “strange” about pointing out that he is responsible for the growth in TCU’s standing in the rankings.

The question now is will Dykes be able to keep the Frogs there while also finding some talent that the rankings and others don’t see, like Patterson did. Or even better, improve on what Patterson built for him, which I think was the intent in hiring Dykes.

Go Tony Elliott - “strange” too that me rooting for Tony Elliott and Virginia appears to get under your skin.

It doesn't get under my skin, I just think it's odd. You seem to like to extol the virtues of Tony Elliott and trash our own coach whenever convenient.

I get all that about Gary. He was great for a good while of the time he was here, but I think some go a little overboard with the reminiscing about the good ol' days, and I like to needle people like you about it. It's like you constantly are warning us that if we don't get rid of SD soon, we won't be able to piggyback on all the amazing accomplishments of the legendary Gary Patterson for much longer, I just think it's a little ridiculous.

In any event, our recruiting class was #38, pretty much in line with most of Gary's classes. It's all about money anyway now, so this high school recruiting stuff matters much less than it used to.

You are lumping me in with others; I do not think TCU should part with Dykes at this point. I did not like the hire of Dykes, mostly his record and the Texas nepotism, but also question his fire, ambition and love of the game; though even with that bias, I am a man of prudent patience and despise overreacting to emotion of the moment. We are only in year four of Dykes and that is not enough time to draw conclusion on him or his recruits and their development. I think navigating a change at this point would be imprudent and am rooting for him to be the correct choice and prove my gut wrong.

I have to think if PSU is having issues hiring a coach with all the money they have, what would be our replacement this year for Sonny? I also agree, I rather invest his buyout money into our NIL program.

Do you really think some 17–18-year-old kid knows who Patterson is or cares? They were like 13 years old when he got fired and 6 years old when he was at the top of the big 12.
I didn’t say that recruits today know or care about Patterson nor did anyone else. They don’t care; the days when they did care are now in the past, and that was part of my point. You and @Wexahu misinterpreted my thought.

aint knocking this class. He seems to be going after what we need. Will be interesting to see who the few unknowns are.

you're right, we don't have any of this without Coach P. His legacy is solid. Dykes did not recruit those stars that had the impact in 2022 for the most part.

Now Sonny has gotten to back to back 8 win seasons, after a dud 2023 (which was gonna be a drop but should not have been that much of a drop). Next year he has to hit that 10 win number. Has good young backs developing. O Line should be better. This extra time of practice that we get with a bowl should help.

But there are good prospects in this class. The lineman from Sulpher Springs is underranked. So I guess you can say he has a high ceiling. Edge rusher is a good get too.

Most of the posts here have been catfighting so I'm sorry to interrupt.

Any surprises today, either positive or negative?

Anyone we are waiting on?
word earlier was that there are some possible surprises. Jeremy's summary in the OP lists some good news in my am opinion. I would imagine they are at the point of offer/counter offer for the remaining targets. Supposedly a flip or two in there.
