QB Battle Still Brewing At TCU?

A few weeks ago TCU head coach Gary Patterson brought sophomore quarterback Shawn Robinson to Big 12 Media Days and it was quickly assumed that Robinson would be the starter heading into the 2018 season.

However, Patterson pointed out that he brought Robinson simply for superstitious reasons; there might’ve been a few folks that muttered ‘yeah right’ that day. After all, Robinson has the most experience of any signal caller on TCU’s roster. Ivy League transfer Michael Collins made the competition tougher in the spring, but many predicted Robinson would win out and many assumed he had. Or did he?

Again the question on who the starting quarterback is popped up last week when Patterson and select coaches met with the media; is Robinson the unquestioned starter at quarterback? Patterson says the battle is ongoing. The man that knows the answer for now is offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Sonny Cumbie; who sees the duo on a daily basis.
