Demercado's Risk To Play Big-Time College Football Paying Off

In TCU’s 16-9 victory last week, many will recall the fact that the Frogs won the game with third string quarterback Grayson Muehlstein. What many may not remember years from now was the fact the Frogs had to win with a third-string running back as well.
Gone from the game were juniors Darius Anderson and Sewo Olonilua; who both left in the first half. That left junior college Emari Demercado as the lone back to carry the load. He responded well as he led the team with 60 yards with 40 of those yards coming in the pivotal second half. His biggest play of the day came on a 3rd and 4 play on the Frogs’ last drive which Demercado gained enough for the first down and helped continue the drive.
Just like Muehlstein, Demercado stepped up when his team needed him the most.
