He’s been at 5 schools in past 5 years. May not be here next year

actually he hasn't been at 5 schools in the past 5 years as he was at arkansas for 3 years and they just extended him last year so obviously pittman wanted to keep him around which in the grand scheme is the only thing that really matter isn't it?

here is the time between baylor and arkansas and it is interesting what a little information can do to clear up some things

2019 - fsu on willie taggert's staff and taggert got fired that year
2018 - uh on major applewhite's staff and applewhite got fired
2017 - fau on lane kiffin's staff and they went from last in their division the year before to winning the conference

What I am reading says that there is a 50% chance that a head coach that hires him will be fired the same year...

Are you advocating that PR within the state of Texas should be top of mind when making coaching hires?

I think we hired a guy to run the football program and need to let him run his football program. One of the reasons the previous coach lost his job is because of how badly he handled the staff. One of the reasons Dykes is here is because he has a track record of doing a phenomenal job with his staff. Putting aside anything you may not like about KB's track record, let's take a look at Sonny's track record in this area. He's the guy in charge and he's never had any issues in the past that should make any of us not trust his decision making.
until the past two weeks when we lost Riley, and hired a lesser OC with a ton of baggage.

until yesterday, when he hired the guy with a ton of baggage whois a lesser OC.

I think Gillespie was a great hire. He did an amazing job IMO given what he had to work with. And recruited some really quality prospects as well.
Gillespie had more of his impactful time at Stephenville under Chad Morris guy. He spent just as much time under Morris and he also coached under and coached over Copeland. Copeland and Morris had more of the influence on him. Obviously, because he started coming up from lowly guy on totem to coordinator and then HC.

The locker room didn’t, the admin did. Just thought it interesting some Arkie fans thought this way, or appear to think this way is all.
many of the fans up there wanted him gone after this past season. the play calling and not getting to the endzone enough drove them nuts. but they can get as bad as Auburn fans at times. Hog sports is everything to the whole state up there. (which I think is really cool) That fan base is as passionate and dedicated as ours, but their is not in state competition. So their voice carries.

Fran an Arkansas fan no less…

couple of things here:
I follow Hog football, and the analysis is fair.
SC does not seem to do well with in game adjustments, other than at half. So welcome to that air raid tempo world mentallity. If it was not for Max and Kendre and Emari and others playing their hearts out, this team maybe has 7 wins this past season. People forget how many times we had to come from behind and it was Max and his will that lead the way. SC needs to show they can win without late game heroics. We fell behind way too much.

on the Kiffin thing, Kiffin overruled on play calling a lot. he was not happy with Briles and it showed.

I think we need to wait and see how he functions under SD. It makes a difference when the head coach is closely involved with the OC and they maintain the same philosophy. Seems that Sonny has been a big part of making his offensive coordinators look good. Quarterbacks as well.

You raise a good point. No way he heck Sam was gonna offer the same offensive oversight that SC would.
