2026-2027 Football Recruiting

It’s honestly pretty pathetic that we couldn’t even get him on campus, and his dad‘s the damn track coach.
TCU has been very good to the Robinson family over the years. Coach came from Fort Worth Trimble Tech, not exactly Aledo or Southlake. From what I can tell, Coach’s highest athletic achievement in HS was he ran the 800M in 1:53.4 and finished 4th in the Texas State meet. Coached started to turn into a great runner at TCU and made the US Olympic Team but people were probably not chasing the father like they are the son.

A lot of kids from the DFW area “get a shot” with a TCU scholarshi, see James Cash, and it changes their life.

I pretty much know or pretend to know what the covo was at the Deener table. A Man (boy) (of your stature) needs to go out of state! That happened with the Orji family and one is struggling on an NFL roster and the other is attempting to play QB at an MW school. Both are excellent athletes but didn't read the room or their helicopter parents were clueless.

He has been on campus numerous times, worked out with players and coaches, this was simply an issue of not breaking the bank for one player.

As hard as it seems to realize, TCU doesn’t have the funds available to compete with the bigger programs. Have you looked at our recruiting class?

Coaches are digging deep and trying to find “diamonds in the rough” and kids with Frog Factor,

Zion is going to make in one season more than his dad has made in all his years at TCU.
