Holy Crap, it’s way worse than first reported. They had been called on the affair during the summer and both denied.
Then, for some reason (One could guess maybe he wouldn’t leave his wife, side girl found a new guy, he lost to the Buckeyes, she’s just scheissing crazy, etc) the side piece went up the Hill yesterday and delivered the rcpts.
He got fired in the afternoon.
THEN he goes full tilt dumbass and goes to her place, commits B&E, and threatens her with a knife. And threatens to harm himself.

The phrasing in that tweet made me wonder two things:

1) why is he in jail with John U Bacon?

2) who is John U Bacon?

From a Michigan alum and friend—

I subscribe to a Michigan forum that has been rather active! The players and the AD have been aware since last summer of the affair with the subordinate. It seems that various people reported this and the AD conducted a rather laughable cursory review. I get the sense that he (Warde Manuel) hoped that the whole problem would just go away. He did nothing until the affair went south. The woman's father got involved and raised hell with the university. Moore tanked emotionally. He hasn't been going to work (except to hire a new QB coach, which Warde permitted). After being fired, Moore broke into the woman's home and threatened to harm her and himself. He went to a church. And he was arrested. He is supposedly under psychiatric care in jail.

I don't expect Warde to keep his job for long. But who knows.

Oh, and the regents want to hire a new coach by the end of the year. It's not clear who will lead the search. But business is business. So it may get done. Some say that DeBoer is Michigan's first choice. (Who is deciding this for Michigan?). Other coaches (Fisch, Dillingham, etc.) supposedly are lobbying to get the job.

Seems to me that the focus should be on the harm caused to a lot of people and on Michigan's role in inflicting it. But sports fans often care more about winning than doing the right thing. So expect some at Michigan to start talking about the positives--that this all will put the Wolverines in a stronger position to win.

I'm just disgusted. And I'm afraid that the virus afflicting Michigan exists in various forms throughout college sports and beyond.

At least I can support our hoops team. As best I can tell, Dusty May is a standup guy. And his team looks amazingly good so far.

No Michigan fan cares about the woman, the coach nor their families.

How many games will they win next year? What about recruiting? Transfers? The next's coach?

What a wild ride. He could have still had a coaching career if it was just the affair... Jeez. Penthouse to outhouse. I don't like or advocate for cheaters in relationships but I also don't wish this on anyone. Its sad but also not.
