Campbell's "flavor of the month" time was right around 2018. At that time PSU probably would have been thrilled to get him. He's still the same guy he was then, but if you don't keep exceeding the bar you set for yourself eventually it gets boring and you're no longer the flavor of the month candidate. I think Campbell is a decent coach and can do well at PSU if the boosters spend enough money.I wonder what Happy Valley thought of Franklin when he was hired. Franklin came from Vandy IIRC, and had managed to go over 500 his last year or 2 there. Franklin may not have won as many games at Vandy as Campbell has won at ISU-- I don't know.
Maybe PSU can be sold the story that a promising coach from a historically down-trodden program can succeed for them. Don't know about that either.
Franklin was 24-15 in 3 years at Vandy with three straight 4th place East division finishes.
