2025 CFB Coach Carousel

Don’t understand Kentucky’s decision at this point. If it needed to happen, why didn’t take so long? And if it didn’t need to happen, this is the wrong offseason to be searching.

They need to pass a law requiring for public universities that amounts equal to those given to athletics must also be given to the general fund which cannot be used for athletic purposes. Some donor is giving to $12 million to a coach, but tuition continues to skyrocket. I don’t care how people spend their money. I do care how my tax dollars are being used. If UT and Aggie can generate $10s of millions in athletic donations then they can send their general money to UTA and UTD where kids can get education.

one has nothing to do with the other. they will still raise tuition. you want to tame tuition, stop overpaying professors. start managing the budget better. academics are bad with money.
and stop doing stuff that ticks of the alumni.

Stoops is the best coach Kentucky has had since Bear Bryant. No idea who they get that will be an upgrade.
I think it's more of a case of after 13 years, it's probably just time. Losing 41-0 to your in-state rival in the season finale might be a sign that it's a good time to make a move and get some new blood in.

They are not related. I just don't think a public institution should be able to collect athletic donations as long as they are not matched by academic donations. It's a bad look when a coach is making $10million at a public institution when kids are struggling to pay tuition. As for private schools they can do whatever they want!

I don't blame the AAC coaches for jumping ship. What are those schools going to be able to pay them? OSU struck gold with Morris. He is going to bring some talent with him which they need. The problem is he is no longer coaching in the AAC. I probably see him though long term as a .500 coach. He is getting paid though!

Too many teams trying to find that shiny object in a coach with few willing accept not every team is going undefeated every year. I don't think many schools actually improved their team by a coaching change.

Va Tech - Massive upgrade
Ole Miss - Upgrade because the Lane Train has left
Auburn - Upgrade by getting rid of Hugh Freeze! I do think Golesh will do ok.
LSU - Even - about the same coaching ability, but equally terrible people

Most others are going to be toss ups. As a MSU supporter I am not thrilled with Fitzgerald. I think he is a good coach, but with the hazing scandal at NU along with MSU's messes I think they needed someone much more vanilla.
