The system sucks but it is what it is at the moment. Almost nobody on this board would just opt out of making significantly more money and having an easier environment to be successful. The fact recruiting starts this week isn’t a negotiable fact. It’s a reality that says if you’re leaving now’s the time to do it if you want to win at your next stop. Player or coach for that matter. The NCAA needs to get their heads out of their butts and establish a calendar that says none of this starts before the week after the national championship game. That solves 90% of the issue.

Go one step further and say you can’t even have any form of contact with currently employed coaches or players until 24 hours after their current team has played their last game. Now you’ve solved 95% of the issues.

Go one step further than that and say if a player or coach leaves before their current team has played their last game and they have to sit out a full season. Now you’ve solved 100% of the issues.

I didn’t realize Arkansas still played football. Still wondering why Calipari went to Arkansas. I don’t think they still have a basketball team. Still a little shocked they didn’t drop baseball after they got annihilated by the Frogs in the postseason a few years ago.

Was I supposed to type something here?

Who was that dude that crashed a motorcycle with the undergrad he was banging on the bike with him? Can't they get him back?

He’s their interim IIRC.
He’s told the press he wants the job.
they were upset up there when he got canned from being HC the last time. Surpised they didn't go torch a Harley dealership.

He was the OC over the past couple of years and it was not so stellar. But to be fair, their last HC was not someone to get them to where they wanted to be. Petrino was headed that way back before he got canned.

Not sure if he could get that magic again.

I agree with their fans. Not a splash hire. Auburn is not such a splash either, although he has some good experience and was turning USF in a way better direction.

SO many of these schools are hoping to do what Indiana has done. But that coach was really successful at the below FBS levels.
And THAT is what schools (even ours in the future) should keep in mind. If some guy is getting his team to the FCS playoffs several times, especially if they win that Natty, then that guy is worth a serious look.

this year and last year really turned the crowd up there.

Dude is a solid defensive coach, great with DBs. It is, quite frankly, amazing he made a go of it at a place like Kentucky for that long.

He'll land somewhere in 2 years as a DC or just retire a rich man.
