Starting to wonder a bit why it is taking just so long to finalize things. If it starts taking much longer, I’ll start to wonder if it will actually happen.
I'm telling you, the early clues I was reading about that Chelsea ownership were being pricks about cooperating seem to be playing out. They sounded like a real threat to getting the deal across the finish line. Last week I heard that the USSF were negotiating with Chelsea and they hoped to have everything finalized by this week, but the fact it's taken this long and the negotiations couldn't get done between Poch and Chelsea alone speak very loudly to how uncooperative the club have been about this.

That situation when they dumped Poch was always very bizarre to me. That they couldn't or wouldn't work something out to keep him on a longer-term basis made me think there must have been some internal animosity. That definitely appears to be the case now and the USSF is suffering for it. Chelsea can kick rocks forever. Darn those pecker heads.

Poch watched the first half and asked for way more money.
I still haven't had time to watch. I may not either. I'll have a hard enough time watching tomorrow night between all the kids' sports. Moose described it perfectly when he said it was a meaningless window without a permanent boss. I couldn't care less about the results this window or even the way we play other than it's embarrassing to lose to Canadia on home soil.

Speaking of the embarrassment... Did anyone see that Jesse Marsch said he'd much rather coach Canadia right now than the USMNT. He must have a deep disdain for the people running the federation to say such a thing. He said he's not bitter in the same breath, but there's a lot more there that we aren't hearing. The USSF sucks.

If you don’t watch, you really won’t miss anything. If you watch at all, last 30 minutes are somewhat better seeing Morris, LDT and Cade Cowell all actually wanting to play. The only thing I learned is that our interim coach should be done with the US program as he demanded the team play form the back knowing that Marsch was going to press high.

As for Marsch and the USSF, I don’t trust the USSF as they’ve had priorities other than winning. That said Marsch is a guy with little to no filter. He makes a lot of his own problems for himself. Canada is a better spot for him though overall he’s way ahead of Gregg.

Just read where Juve are monitoring both Tillman and Pepi for a possible winter transfer. I think this is a good indication that McKennie has changed his new boss' perception of what he and other Americans can bring to the side. I saw a piece over the summer that the main reason he told Wes to go was b/c he had a low opinion of American players. He wanted to keep Weah b/c of his dad and that pedigree. That they're publicly announcing that Tillman and Pepi are on their radar says a lot about McKennie's situation, IMO.

If anything, he wont kiss their ass and will swiftly kick them in the ass. That alone will be worth something.
This is where I am. These kids will be reinvigorated under him. Poch has had rapid success everywhere he's gone with young players and young teams. He knows how to motivate them and coax out their potential. Any of them who don't respond will be replaced by the next young guy. The run of form we've seen since Berhalter was rehired just goes to show how awful a hire that guy was the 2nd time around. It's unreal he was ever even considered.

This quote from Puli is pretty damning. For a guy who was so vocal in his support for Berhalter, this is a pretty swift kick to his teeth. The group is stagnant and they need a serious jolt of motivation. Hopefully Poch brings it in October.

"Hopefully a culture that is willing to fight, that is willing to take risks," the AC Milan winger said. "There's a lot of things that need to change, just the mentality and the culture of the group."

Also saw where Gio's groin injury will keep him out a few more weeks. Dude can't stay out of his own way. He's looking at a possible start on Friday with Schlotterbeck suspended and can't even be healthy enough to dress for the game.

He’s right but it rings real hollow with me. This is the same guy who was advocating for his rehiring knowing full well this team was massively underachieving. That none of the supposed leaders of this team spoke out before they rehired him speaks volumes about how this group is really wired IMO.

Did he actually advocate or did he just say positive general things about Gregg? I need to look back at the quotes, but one of the biggest mistakes USSF made was giving players input on the rehiring.

I've had the same thoughts, but I'm less definitive in my conclusions because we're talking about very young guys who are still incredibly naive and don't know what they don't know. I also wonder if Puli's success last season has grown him up in a way that he recognizes his naivete from a year ago when he supported Berhalter being rehired. Maybe he still doesn't truly know the root cause of the problem within the team (still naive), but he recognizes that something is very clearly wrong and is giving insight that the team recognizes they need to do something different to achieve their potential.

Yes, from memory Puli was one of Berhalter's loudest supporters. It was well chronicled that the guys really enjoyed playing for him and being around him. I think that's where his support originated. I think most of the guys held a belief that they would play best for a guy who was always pleasant and boosted their egos with hollow platitudes. I'm hoping Puli's recent comments signal a change in the team's perspective that they need a leader who will challenge them more and coddle them less.

It was reported way. On the other hand if I knew my boss was maybe gonna be replaced but was probably gonna be back I wouldn’t say anything but nice things to reporters too.
