Tim Weah gets a dumb and completely unnecessary and silly red card within the first 15 minutes. This “golden generation” lacks awareness.

Absolutely ridiculous lunge in the box by Carter-Vickers. Penalty called but VAR luckily takes it away, thankfully. It wasn’t a penalty (Panamanian player basically was falling into him) but without VAR, that would have stood. Just a non-needed reckless tackle by Vickers.

While I know we like to bag on Berhalter and justifiably so, this team’s on field decision making is absolutely atrocious!

Panama down one man so it’s even. They score on Horvath, who is in for an injured Turner. Panama up, 2-1 with 4 minutes extra time to go.

I’m sorry, I know these players are youngish, but this team lacks all sorts of awareness and is consistently inconsistent.

I am nowhere near sold on Richards as others. He is a mistake waiting to happen. For every single decent thing he does, he mitigates it with a bad thing.

You never know which McKennie you’re going to get. Is it gonna be him from 3 years ago or the doughy Leeds version and all too often these days, it’s the Leeds version, sadly.

If Horvath is the number 2 keeper, we are in serious trouble.

Robinson was amazing today…the only true bright spot really.

The only fight the team really showed at all today was when Pulisic was fouled late in the game and Panama received a red card for it.

Absolutely pathetic. Panama is greatly improved and is a team one overlooks to their peril but the supposed quality of this team should not be losing to Panama even with a man down.

Ali Krieger was on espn tonight…geez, between her and Carli Lloyd, these women national team members don’t seem to miss too many buffets once their playing time ends.

Watching some pundit clips about the game….I’m probably done with this golden generation team. I’ve been cynical on them for a while but still was willing to try to maintain positivity but this game tonight just further reinforces my belief that we are seeing their level.

I think they’re a golden generation paper tiger. They seem to, and not everyone obviously but most of them, lack resolve, lack heart, lack want, and most definitely, lack awareness.

They only seem to consistently show up against Mexico, which isn’t in any great shakes either these days. This is not the team to make any great home run in two years.

Hopefully everything I just said comes back to fully bite me, but I highly doubt it will, sadly.

Its a combination of the individual players not being as great as we'd hoped for AND then coaching holding them back as a unit that functions far below potential productivity. Very frustrating,

I'd argue Pulisic, Adams and Robinson have met or come close to their potential and expectations, and even those three still need more consistent, injury free periods or another turn higher on the performance ladder to achieve global talent level (Puli probably there) and not just be very good players.

McKennie, Dest, Musah, Weah, Reyna, (and now Flo) have all flashed at times but are largely just average if not under performers who have not risen to the heights they were projected to. Then there's the group of solid role players like Ream, Richards, CCV, Sargent, Turner, Aaronson etc who can earn minutes or bench time on top flight teams but do not blow you away.

The only lever to pull is coaching and hope a new guy with ne tactics and ideas can jump start player development in national team camps that carries over to their professional team. I still believe in these players and their capability, but something has to change soon or you're take will be the correct one.

Austria just finished top of a group that included France and The Netherlands. The US needs to beat Uruguay to avoid going out of Copa America group that includes the weakest CONMEBOL side and a CONCACAF side. At home.

Better managers are out there. The USSF just is to lazy to find one.

But, hey, at least the USSF has figured out how to increase revenue.
