I've always liked this idea. I thought it was a great way to dole out discipline in indoor and that outdoor needed it too bc the yellow card for a "professional foul" wasn't enough of a penalty given what was taken away for the offensive player.Blue cards and penalty boxes are coming…
Sources: Blue cards set for use in sin-bin trials
The International Football Association Board (IFAB) will announce the introduction of a new blue card on Friday as part of trials of sin bins in professional football, sources have confirmed to ESPN.www.espn.com
I think it has potential too. Be interesting to see it in action although not sure when that will be given that it seems to not be happening in the top leagues unless I read it wrong.I've always liked this idea. I also want to see PKs go away for deciding matches. A PK is proper when a goal scoring chance is nullified by a foul in the box, but the shootout at the end of games should allow for more GK skill to impact the outcome than guessing right and getting lucky.
Just saw this morning that it's trial has now been postponed. I doubt we see it any time soon. I think the blue card has serious potential to improve the diving and flopping problems in the game too. Make those VAR reviewable and a 10 minute penalty and you'll see that curtailed quickly. That's another one for me where red is too harsh, but yellow isn't harsh enough.I think it has potential too. Yeah, I wasn’t surprised Bayer won, but it was the dominance from Leverkusen.Bayer v Bayern was a fun game today. Bayern couldn’t even sniff them. Hopefully the Bayern reign at the top of the Bundesliga ends this year for once.
I think 10 minutes is too harsh for that, but I'm good with 2-5 minutes. There are times where you take a stud to the lower leg/foot and it stings like hell for a few minutes. You could legitimately benefit from the ice spray and come back quickly. Not to mention when guys go down and roll around like they just got hit the leg with a .30-06 round, stopping play, and bringing out the trainers.
"Oh, so you need the training staff have to come on the field, use the magic spray, and stretcher your ass off? Ok. Your team is playing down a man for 10.' Unless you're subbed...."
Would put an end to that real quick.
Then again... it's just something else for PGMOL to apply totally randomly and scheiss up royally.
This didn't age well. Dike ruptured his other Achilles over the weekend. That guy can't catch a break. Unreal. Dude looks rock solid, but is made of paper mache.Pefok with a goal today for Gladbach. Scally with another predictable start. Sarge, Dike, and Pefok are all getting healthy and scoring again.
Can’t sleep on Pepi. Dude is just a finisher. First touch goal.
Taylor Booth had a brace today after last weekends hat trick. Flipped that switch - seems to be in a better place mentally. Easy shots just weren’t going in like this earlier for him.
Gotta say, I’ve really enjoyed the eredivisie this year. I realize it’s not the greatest talent pool in the world, but it’s a lot of fun.
Agreed on both Dike and Hoppe. Dike reminds me of Charlie Davies in that he showed early flashes when healthy of being pretty special, but after a run of bad injuries could never get back to what he once was. Stu Holden was another one like that.Seriously bummed for Dike. I think he’s got real talent and intelligence to go with the size, but these injuries are nearly career killing.
Very happy for Mr Booth, but can’t get too high on a short span of games. Matthew Hoppe blew up in a similar way but then flamed out hard when he moved on from Schalke.
Hmm. 3rd team in a row who doesn't want to feature or even play him.Gio can't get on at Forest. So crazy what's going on with him.
He's been on a couple times as a sub with Forest and had been getting regular and impactful sub minutes at Dortmund his last month (perhaps to make him more attractive to buyers), but I figured he'd step in at Forest and have an instant impact. Tells me the maturity still may not be there. Then yesterday he doesn't come on at all. Only thing that makes sense is they went with defensive subs to hold a lead.Hmm. 3rd team in a row who doesn't want to feature or even play him.
