Was that announcer on a tranquilizer? The Italian commentary is much better….

And love to see the Milan supporters rallying around him.

That's greatness. When Musah finds his place there and becomes a regular we may start seeing some American flags at San Siro. Looking like a wave of American talent coming to liberate Italian football. The number of new viewers Serie A will get from this could change the balance of wealth in European leagues where suddenly the EPL isn't quite as dominant in the transfer markets.

Seeing where Juve have dropped their asking price for McKennie by $5MM. I really hope that piques the interest of Dortmund. He's not starting at Juve and is coming on as a sub for Weah at wing back right now. It's so bizarre. He's a central midfielder for me in every possible type of formation. He needs to get out as I don't see him breaking through into that midfield unless someone there gets injured.

The new "superpower" in CONCACAF just lost their coach to the worst team in MLS.
That will sting a bit, but I think they'll be fine. They have a ton of front line talent. They aren't terribly deep, but their starters can play with almost anybody.

I'm not sure I ever elevated them to superpower of CONCACAF b/c they only won a single confederation trophy in the 90s (I think) and merely qualified in first position for the last WC. I suspect that's why you put the word in quotations, but I'm not sure any serious observer thought they'd reached superpower status yet.

I wasn't referencing anything you had ever said in my post. Just a sarcastic reference to announcers asking if they were now the top dog in CONCACAF after last years qualifying

I figured as much. I guess I never heard the announcers seriously debating them as a superpower in CONCACAF. Maybe I should rephrase. I don't recall hearing any SERIOUS announcers considering them a superpower. I'm sure I heard Lex and maybe Lando suggest something that crazy, but Lex is only on TV because if his habitual hyperbole. I almost never agree with that clown so I tend to forget what he says before I'm finished hearing it.

This scheissing guy. Literally should have been the first thing he did. Like the day after they rehired him. Asshat.
Don't you know he's smarter than everyone else? Gregg plays chess while other coaches play checkers..... which makes him an awful checkers player.

Still trying to understand why the idiots at USSF thought that clown was the guy to lead our best group of players in a long time into a World Cup that we are hosting.

Or maybe I answered my own question.
My guess is a few key guys Pulisic, McKennie, Adams (whoever spoke out on his behalf) pitched an internal fit to keep him. Then the federation realized they were not going to land any big targets and threw the towel in.

Awful. Might as well double down and pick up Vlatko Andonovski as his chief strategist.

I read this yesterday and had the same thought.
If I'm being honest his issue with Reyna should have been settled BEFORE they rehired him.
It should have been a condition of rehire that he and Gio had squashed everything already. If I'm being honest, the issue with Gio should have never happened in the first place. I blame Gio's parents for going full Blackhawk helicopter parent, but I blame GB for creating the situation in the first place.

You're at the darning World Cup. You play you best players to give your team the best chance to win. GB didn't do that b/c he wanted to prove a point and act like Gio's daddy. It backfired and never should have happened in the first place. Gio could have made a name for himself internationally and made tons of money with a great performance against England (I think he'd have been hell for the 3 Lions) and he never got that chance.

GB is a narcissistic ass clown and better get over himself quickly if he wants my support. I'll support the players all day long (until they get too woke), but GB has a long way to go before I can begin to appreciate him again.

I agree that this is likely what happened. And it's sad to me b/c, if true, it's the same myopic and immature mentality that kept Landon Donovan from reaching his full potential and will likely have the same effect on our golden generation. These guys are still kids. They like GB, but that doesn't mean he's best for them. They don't understand or know that yet and now maybe never will.

It certainly did seem like we were short on great options, though, so if it's down to GB and Marsch and the top players vote for GB I can easily see how such a decision could come down. I just think it's cowardly to concede so easily.

Rosters for the friendlies are up. I'm pretty happy with the selections. Gio is out, but that's not a stunner b/c he's still yet to dress for Dortmund. I really like the back line options and a new name (Lund) to consider at left back.
