Another point of interest in the Amarillo Tascosa - Midland Legacy game is that Marcos Davila, a 2024 TCU QB recruit plays for Legacy. He is one of the QB's that the Frogs are keeping an eye on for 2024, and has shown serious interest in the Frogs as well.

Here's the article about Legacy's first game Saturday where Davila tore it up.

this weeks update on the frogs current commits. remember you get what you pay for and local newspapers aren't granting the access they once did so info can be scarce. as always feel free to share and a note that jordyn bailey and denton ryan did not play this week, but do face azle next game:

narado stoker & brione ramsey brooks - offensive line - soc (0-2) - lost last week to lancaster 21- 3 and face another tough defensive challenge when they go to play de soto (1-1). once they get past these three teams to open their season i am not sure they are going to see too many defenses with these level of athletes. here is a link to hudl for team highlights:

cooper powers - offensive line - concord, ca de la salle (1-1) - lost last week to serra 24 - 21 and play st. francis (1-1) this week. the spartans are a run heavy team using the split back veer as a primary formation. powers is #77 in the highlights playing defensive tackle as he does play both way for them. as a team they have rushed for over 200 yards in both games. here is a link to hudl for team highlights:

benjamin whitfield - offensive line - duncanville (2-0) - beat orlando, fl. jones 44 -21 and opens district play this week with mansfield lake ridge (1-1) couldn't find any stats from the game other than the point totals, but considering that the panthers scored 44 points this week it looks like their offense played better than the soc game. here is the link to hudl for team highlights:

lafayette kauiway - tight end- arlington sam houston (0-2) - lost to mansfield timberview 69-14 and play aledo recruiting ground ld bell (2-0) next. no stats on lafayette or the team and we will hold off on posting the hudl link

jonathan bax - edge - new orleans edna karr (1-0) - beat landry - walker 56-55 in their district and season opener (i think), travel to play at scotlandville (0-1) next week. no stats and no highlights to link.

zachary chapman - defensive end - ft. bend marshall (1-1) - lost to crosby 27 -21 ot - travel to face alief taylor (1-1) next week. marshall doesn't post their stats many places so not much info here is the link to hudl for marshall offensive and special team highlights:

keviyan huddleston - defensive end - tyler chapel hill (0-2) - lost to van 23 -17 - host greenville (1-1) this week . huddleston did register 2 tackles this week from his defensive end and he does double as an offensive tackle for the bull dogs. they have run for over 200 yards in each game. no real high lights yet for this team.

avion carter - defensive end - amarillo tascosa (2-0) - beat midland legacy (lee) 48 -27 - host odessa permian (2-0) next week in the big game of the upcoming week for frog recruits. carter returned to action in big form with 11 total tackles, including 6 solos. here is the link to hudl for tascosa highlights which primarily are offensive plays:

vernon glover jr. - cornerback - dickinson (1-1) - beat ft. bend ridge point 14-0 - host pasadena dobie (1-1) no defensive stats by vernon this week again, but when your defense registers a shut out you are doing something good defensively, he did return 2 punts for 8 yards. here is the link to hudl for team highlights:

montana warren - safety - henderson (0-2) - lost to hallsville 49 -35 - travel to marshall (1-1) this week. no stats for warren or the defense this week and no real highlights for the team.

jordan lester - safety - mesquite horn (2-0) - beat arlington bowie 34 -21 - player tyler (john tyler) (0-2) next week. lester contributed 4 tackles and 2 passes defended to their victory this week. through 2 games he has 9 tackles, 1 tfl and 2 passes defended. here is the link to hudl for team highlights:

jayveon wilcox - safety - lake belton (2-0) - beat buda johnson 41 -34 - open up district play at red oak (2-0) which is another big tcu recruit game to watch this week. wilcox had a big night with 12 tackles and 1 pass defended. two games in he has 19 tackles, 1 pass defended, and an 8-yard touchdown catch. no real team highlights on hudl.

max carroll - athlete - memphis briarcrest christian (2-1) - lost to brentwood academy 38-7. max had 1 catch for 57 yards and through 3 games he has 9 catches for 145 yards (long of 68), 2 td catches, 13 tackles, and 2 int's . here is the link to hudl for team highlights:

rohan fluellen - athlete - gilmer (2-0) - beat kilgore 40- 26 - next play paris (0-2). rohan had a big night with 7 catches for 126 yards. this season he has 10 catches for 152 yards, 88 yards on kick returns, and 3 interceptions

cordale russell - wide receiver - north mesquite (1-1) - lost to mesquite 44 -32 - play north forney (1-1) next week. cordale stacked another good game on top of last week's totals as he had 5 catches for 116 yards and a td. year's totals are 13 catches for 335 yards and 3 td catches. here is the link to hudl for team highlights which include a couple of nice plays by cordale in the mesquite game:

cameron cook - running back - round rock stony point (2-0) - beat killeen 24 -16 - travel to pflugerville this week. cameron put together another solid and varied stat line as he had 19 carries for 150 yards (long of 51), added 79 yards on kick returns, and 21 on punt returns. this year he has 26 carries for 315 yards with 3 td's, 2 catches for 59 yards and a score, 79 kick return yards, and 40 punt return yards.

I was wondering about that. The TFM piece didn't mentioned any yardage #'s, just the four touchdowns (in the first half no less).

37 carries for 441 yards, long of 75, and 3 td's plus 3 catches for 111 yards and a score so he is over 13 yards a touch

add in roughly 180 yards on returns and he is generating roughly 240 all purpose yards a game without a great deal of wear and tear on him.

I saw someone post on here yesterday that there were significant swaths of empty seats yesterday, which I found somewhat disappointing, but looking at this photo, the place looks completely packed. What's the deal?
The overhead shots from the blimp showed the stadium pretty well packed at the beginning of the game, but emptied out A LOT by the 4th quarter. Understandably. :)
