PFF grades players on a play by play basis in the same way coaches do based on how well the player carries out his individual assignment. The accuracy of those PFF grades is certainly looked at with a bit of skepticism by many based on the fact they don't actually KNOW what each individual player's assignment is on every play as taught by their coaches. But certainly it gives you some idea how effective players are beyond just raw stats.

For sure. It's a much better way of analyzing the game than most traditional statistics even if it's not perfect.

I always assumed that was a big part of the reasoning behind why Sonny didn’t take the OC job under Strong.
