Can you imagine what Josh Hamilton could have been? He and Bo Jaskson rank as the 2 players I had the privilege of watching in person who made me hang on to every pitch.

Watching YES network and game 163 of the 1978 season. Becky scheissing Dent just went yard. Mike Torres had been frustrating them all day but Dent got a hold of one in the 7th. Pitch before he fouled one off his left foot. He didn't break hit bat but the batboy still brought him 2 new bats to choose from. He held both in each hand and chooses the one in his right; presumably because he's right handed. Next pitch: gone.

The next batter was former Rangers great Mickey Rivers, who, if it weren't for Thurman Munson, would have had the worst swing in the history of baseball.

his mlb career is only 4 games long and he still has a long way to go, but yordan alvarez of the astros is a strong young man.

i have not seen many left handed hitters go oppo and hit the train tracks above the gas pump in deep left center as he did tonight. the posted distance was 425 and that can't be correct because the train tracks are 90 feet in the air and the distance to the gas pump is over 400 ft.

will be interesting to see what happens with the lineup when the astros get spring, correra, and altuve back fromt the disabled list.
