Couple very early MLB mock drafts, with Nick Lodolo in the top 10...

4. Miami Marlins Nick Lodolo, LHP, TCU

Sleeper CJ Abrams, SS, Blessed Trinity Catholic (GA)

This is the first pick where I had some major debate. At first, I put CJ Abrams as, a year ago, the Marlins went upside and then more upside. Then I heard that they have been hot on Lodolo and that did make a lot of sense. The reason for that is in this draft if you want a college arm, you better grab them quickly, especially if you can get that player under slot and use that extra money later on high ceiling prospects. Lodolo has taken the step people had wanted to see and has finally risen to be the top college arm, as was expected when the Pirates failed to sign him three years ago. Abrams is the obvious prep player, as the concerns about Witt’s hit tool have pushed him down the board.
