how does mlb determine the pool size for each team?

MLB places slot values on all picks in the first 10 rounds.

The pool is then just the total value of all those first round picks.

Rangers got a compensation pick when they traded Alex Claudio to the Brewers...which is currently slated as the 41st pick worth $1,813,500.

(Astros could still get compensation if Dallas Keuchel signs with a team before the draft.)

OUCH!!!
The Indians just lost a combined no-hitter in the 9th inning. Our good friend Trevor Bauer pitched 7 innings of the no-hitter and then the bullpen blew it in the top of the 9th.
