2014 DE Myles Garrett: names top 3

Myles Garrett DE 6-4/240/4.6 Arlington, TX (Martin): One of the top DEs in the nation, UT offered early.

From 24/7 sports:

“A&M, TCU and Oregon are showing me a lot of love over these past few weeks,” he said. “Each school has a lot to offer so its tough. Oregon has a lot of speed and like to let their lineman do their thing. Texas A&M, they have a great defense, and like to let their defensive ends get at it. At TCU, my boy Devonte (Fields) is doing his thing and it looks like they’re coaching their defensive lineman real well so that’s the kind of things I like to see.”
He added, “My top three is A&M, TCU and LSU.” ...

Some video when Hicks was still UT commit and flashes "Hook'em" at least once:(Hicks & Garrett):

Better have Devonte go chat him up.

I'm always pumped to see us in a top three with Aggy and LSU, but like some others have voiced, it's time to start winning more of those recruiting battles.

It would be nice to keep that Martin pipeline open. Any d-end in the country should want to play for Patterson after what Fields did this year. One other local D-End that I think might be a national recruit next year will be Anthony Villalobo from Fossil Ridge HS. Do you know if the coaches are recruiting him?

He has camped at TCU and says coaches are recruiting him. He may be closer to an inside DL than DE by the time he graduates and seems to have a build that can easily add anoth 40+ lbs.

Anthony Villalobo was at the OU game. LSU is after him early and OU/TCU are interested. He was great this year but unlike Myles Garrett he didnt have the same early exposure. Myles Garrett will be a 5 star top 50 recruit most likely.

TCU offered him in September but I bet Villalobo gets an offer next year, his film is crazy good.

I know one of the coaches at Fossil Ridge, he's an old childhood friend, known each other since we were 5-6 years old. Too bad he REALLY doesn't like the frogs and I know he's not shy about letting his players know that. :/

Why is that?
Wish I knew. He's never been a fan and on some of our discussions on FB he just keeps ragging on...he's a fairly big T-Shirt UT fan which I think has a lot to do with it. If I remember right he went to school at Tarelton(sp?) playing football there, but I'm not sure.

Seems to be a little trend there, bc I seem to remember Hal Wasson not being too high on the Frawgs either. Ridge isn't really known for pumping out a bunch of top tier FBS talent every year, but the last Frog I remember coming from there was Mike DePriest.

Saw this on twitter, another recruiting tidbit. 2013 Kaleb Blanchard 4 star RB. Basically says LSU, TCU and Tennessee are top 3 after Arkansas pulled offer.

FWIW it is not working on Villalobos as he would love to play for the frogs, same with a receiver in this class. Sounds like his players care about as much of his opinion as he cares about the frogs. Probably butt hurt in the past....

He should come to TCU. If he comes he'll be a first round draft pick.

A&M has very mediocre defensive coaching. Sumlin is an offensive coach first.
