    TCU Baseball....

For sure. OTOH if we had not gotten a once-in-a-decade performance from him on Friday we would have suffered our second straight conference series sweep and would be firmly entrenched in 13th place in a 13 team conference at 1-8. This season is getting ugly fast.

GoFrogs: TCU Baseball at Kansas Preview

Kansas looked really good. All of these Big 12 road series are going to be dogfights.

FWST: TCU assistant coaches open up about diversity issues and opportunities in college football

Or maybe they could just hire based on experience, coaching skill, etc. instead of skin color?

    Kirk Saarloos radio show

That's a great question. I tuned in a couple of minutes late, presumably after he introduced himself but he never mentioned his name after that. Edit: I just listened to the first couple of minutes of the replay. The host was Landry Burdine.

    Kirk Saarloos radio show

Well that's an hour of my life I can't get back. We learned about drones crashing, trucks, vineyards, apple orchards, cheeseburgers, and pretty much everything else except TCU baseball. The host couldn't stay focused on anything, especially the upcoming season.

OT: Lone Star Beer. Question from some of the older beer drinkers here.

I agree - most aren't made very well. But a really good one like Cantillon lambic fresh from the keg is a wonderful treat IMHO.

OT: Lone Star Beer. Question from some of the older beer drinkers here.

It's funny, after I won a gold medal for a German style lager at the American Homebrewers Assoc. national competition back around 2000 I subsequently got written up in the Startlegram by Barry Schlachter who was the paper's beer scribe at the time. After the article was published I got a...

OT: Lone Star Beer. Question from some of the older beer drinkers here.

Very cool! I miss the days when I had a dedicated beer fridge with 4 or 5 soda kegs full of homebrew to drink and share with appreciative friends. I moved in 2003 and decided not to take all of my brewing equipment with me. I do miss it sometimes.

OT: Lone Star Beer. Question from some of the older beer drinkers here.

Who knows, our paths may have crossed at some point. Back in a former life (about 20-25 years ago) I was a competitive homebrewer and won a combined 16 medals in the AHA nationals and the Masters Championship of Amateur Brewing (MCAB). I wrote an article for Zymurgy and lectured at the AHA...

    OT: Favorite Professor at TCU

Manfred Reinecke. I was an athlete and my grades were a little below average for med school admission but he went to bat for me and got me into one of the best medical schools in the country where I graduated with honors.

They had Rahr IPA the season before but I did not see any during several trips to Lupton last year.

Better beer selection. Add something like Rahr or Deep Ellum IPA.

ESPN: Remembering the 1990 TCU-Houston game that showed the future of college football

Great article by ESPN. I was there at that game and will never forget it. I'm not surprised that our team missed their flight. The game took forever and that was before the era of marathon TV timeouts.

    Am I missing anything?

The first person I heard say that was Tom Waits back in the late 70's.
