    Carl Knox

Carl has passed on, he was the punter and back-up qb in the mid 40's. Holds record for longest punt in TCU history ( 94 yards in 1947 against Oklahoma A&M). With a strong south wind, he spiraled a kick that cleared the safety by 20 yards and bounded onward. The ball was snapped from the 3 yard...

What to do with 123 players?

I know we can have 85 scholarship, but what do we do if some of the others surprise? Some will eliminate themselves, some will be injured and grades may play into the outcome. Say 10 players look really good and need to play. Do we make room to keep them? This may be a good problem to have, but...

Report on Luken Baker's baseball progress

He is in the Florida State League, playing for the Palm Beach Cardinals as a first baseman. Baker is rated as the # 27 prospect in the St. Louis organization. He is not moving up very fast since starting out at # 15-- hopefully that will change, he is just 22. They still like his size and range...

    Carpenter's Big Game Yesterday

Hope no one minds this-- just had to post. Matt went 5 for 5, with 5 runs scored and 2 homers. 19 mlb players have done this, but he's the only Cardinal ever to do it. Carp also had a double among the hits and 3 rbi's. Just one great and unforgettable day, and I am proud for this Frog.

Vito "Babe" Parrilli dead at 87-- '52 Cotton Bowl vs. Frogs

Babe was qb for Kentucky, coached by Bear Bryant, and beat TCU in the above game. He and the 'Cats also beat Oklahoma a year earlier in the Sugar Bowl. Parrilli was all-American and later played for the Boston Patriots (now New England) in the old AFL. Some of the mature adults (like me)...

OT: Sorry if already posted-- but is about ex Frogs

Chad Huffman in bigs after 11 years in the minors. He joins Cards and Carp to re-unite old team mates. Hope he sticks, but that probably depends on performance. Both he and Carp played on same high school team under Matt's dad, as well as TCU baseball.
