TCU on SI: Josh Hoover has his sights set high for the final four games

I’ve been interested in seeing what Seals can do. Occasionally, a new qb can catch lightning. Not saying he will, just that he might.

GoFrogs: Men's Basketball Opens Season Monday Hosting New Orleans

I was so high on our potential this year when I walked into the Scholl on Monday. My balloon was popped early in the game when our new hotshots became some of the worst coldshots here and that's saying alot as we've had some stinko 3-point shooters over the years!

    BYU at 9:15 on espn

We mormons don't drink moonshine. We focus on what the moonshine is used for (loosening tensions) and go straight to the task of procreation!

    BYU at 9:15 on espn

The sister-wives start silent-echoing the mile-high Cougar gridiron men that if they win that particular night, the sister-wives special panties (garments-of-the-holy-priesthood) are going to be easy to remove and an opportunity to create life is certain to occur. That's when those BYU football...

Next four games--what do you expect?

Agree. Our defense can keep us in close games thank goodness. Davalos was a very solid hire by Dykes. Briles tenure here may be coming to an end. I wish he would try McAllister in the wildfrog and at rb.

Next four games--what do you expect?

I laughed at first after reading your pessimism until I realize you might yet be proven right. I think we may surprise ourselves positively assuming Deery can play and Barnes can take more snaps even though Battle’s not far behind Barnes. I also think 3-1 is possible but not likely. Too many...

    Provo

My wife and I have been to games at U of Utah 4 times, but this year will, like yours, be our first to Provo. We're staying in dowtown SLC as my wife likes luxury hotels and that area seems to have the better brands..

DMN: The Iron Skillet is done, just as it was getting good. Sonny Dykes is the reason for both.

Far fewer than 3,000. SMU's biggest challenge is that they have a very small fanbase. They've got money and the transfer portal working for them though.

AP: Dykes and TCU can do what they want with Iron Skillet since no more games planned vs. SMU

As the 1950s ended, TCU football fell into purgatory as did SMU when the Cowboys entered the fray and two-platoon football came into being. Also, UT and A&M drastically enlarged their enrollment to prepare for the onslaught of the baby boom. Growing up here in the 1960s/early 1970s, the ACS...

DMN: The Iron Skillet is done, just as it was getting good. Sonny Dykes is the reason for both.

I have mixed feelings about the continuation of this series but I don't like visiting the rinky-dink confines of Ford Stadium in Dallas and their poor concessions/game-day management despite it's improvement in '24 over '22. I'm glad we're taking a breather from one-another. When it makes sense...

FWST: Why Sonny Dykes wasn’t satisfied with TCU football’s win over Abilene Christian

If my memory serves, Helm and Glover have had injury prone careers. Not forcing one turnover or punt and losing 21-14 in the 2nd half against a team that can only give 63 scholarships vs our 85 is concerning. I did see alot of new faces playing and that's good, but this is concerning. I trust...

FWST: TCU athletic director opens door for a return of the Iron Skillet against SMU

I get what you're saying about getting LSU and OU. During its time in conference purgatory (you know what I'm talking about), TCU was able to host highly ranked out-of-conference teams such as OU, #4 Arizona and #5 North Carolina. There is no question that top programs like playing in recruiting...

FWST: TCU athletic director opens door for a return of the Iron Skillet against SMU

I think our AD should tell SMU that we will agree to a 2 in FW, 1 at Cotton Bowl rotation until their stadium can host 40,0000 i(currently holds 32,000) in addition to averaging 35,000 in attendance (not ticket sales). Also, their home games would be monitored to ensure that (1) adequate water...

FWST: TCU athletic director opens door for a return of the Iron Skillet against SMU

Our inclusion into a bigger Big 10 or SEC is a stretch but not completely unreachable. Should we have some really good seasons and CFP performances, these leagues could do much worse than including us. This program has held its own for 2 1/2 decades now and has rich donors who can shell enough...

Big 12 Roundup: OSU, K-State and West Va. suffer embarrassing losses

Bad job Big 12! I really wish we could relegate B12 teams who lose to FCS or even non-P4 teams to probationary status and expulsion to repeat offenders! Also add in disciplinary measures for poor home attendance and inability to sell tickets to bowl games. We've learned repeatedly that weak...

TCU on SI: Is Sonny Dykes Already Among TCU’s Best Head Coaches of All-Time?

Yes, especially when there was little help or emphasis for success from the Chancellor or Trustees as athletics weren't the focus of the period from the 1960s-mid1990s. When the wakeup bell rang in 1995, TCU answered it though! During those years, taking the head coaching job at TCU was a...

    Coaches Poll 9/7/25

Me too. The best team in the Big 12 losing to the worst team in the SEC no es bueno!

    Week 2 Games

The WVU athletic director that approved that game must have been drinking some moonshine that came out of a very corrosive still! The 'neers have a big stadium with passionate fans and should be able to host any MAC member without having to play in some small MAC stadium. It would be like Buddie...

    Week 2 Games

Gundy's situation reminds me of Gary's, other than Gundy is an alum. If there ever was a time in history where OSU could outshine an OU that may well turn into a middling conference member in the SEC, this could be OUS's one tiny window! But nooooo. They have to also suck and remain little...

    Position Group Thoughts

Sonny was way down the list of my hiring preferences when replacing Gary, but I'm starting to respect his hiring decisions and his willingness to fire a coordinator when their unit is digressing- something Gary wouldn't do. I think Avalos is proving to be the deal. This unit could be nasty...
