Gameday Thread, Friday Edition: TCU vs Cougar High

Hiring Kaz was a red flag and the first sign of the moral bankruptcy creeping in to the program, honestly. I thought he had changed. Guess not.

What an absolute miracle 2022 was

I said Dykes DIDNT do any of it. Max did.

What an absolute miracle 2022 was

That 2022 team would have lost to Oklahoma State, Kansas, WVU, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Baylor, Texas, and maybe even SMU if it wasn't for one torn knee. It was absolutely not Dykes that did any of it.

Gameday Thread, Friday Edition: TCU vs Cougar High

I don't think I've seen a team try the Eagles push from 2 entire yards out. I know I haven't seen a team who can barely run the ball in the best of times try it.

    10 years ago today…

Shout-out to Jeff Olson losing his mind in that clip right at 20 seconds.

    Oh [ Finebaum ]!!

I was hoping we'd go all the way with Hispanic Heritage, like the baseball team did with those Ranas uniforms. Silver chrome helmet is pretty sweet though, reminds me of the 80s and early 90s helmets.

FWST: Why Houston could be a Big 12 Conference trap game for TCU football

In order to be a "trap" game, don't you have to be a lot better than the other team and be looking past them? With respect to this team, I don't think we're good enough to look past anyone left on our schedule.

RIP Pete Rose and Dikembe Mutombo

Here's the ruling. Quote: "Peter Edward Rose is hereby declared permanently ineligible in accordance with Major League Rule 21 and placed on the Ineligible List." The terms "for life" or "lifetime" don't appear anywhere.

RIP Pete Rose and Dikembe Mutombo

No, he was put on the "permanently ineligible" list. That doesn't end at death.

RIP Pete Rose and Dikembe Mutombo

Trivia note, Willie Mays (along with Mickey Mantle) WAS on the Permanently Ineligible list briefly in the late 1970s, banned by Bowie Kuhn because they worked in an Atlantic City casino. The casino didn't have a sports book, and both were already in the HOF, but it was still enough to bar them...

RIP Pete Rose and Dikembe Mutombo

I tend to think the HOF writers are a bunch of hypocritical jerks, the blacklist of Bonds for example is egregious. But in Rose's case, I think his ban is justified. I think he loved playing baseball, but if he truly loved the game he would not have broken what everyone knew was the number one...

Gameday Thread, Arrowhead Edition: TCU at Kansas (City)

Yeah I don't buy that Max would have stayed at all, regardless of what Sonny did. Not a chance. He was a 4 year starter with a degree and was NEVER going to have a better season than he did in 2022.

FWST: TCU wide receiver pleads guilty to misdemeanor after arrest on assault with deadly weapon

I can appreciate the point of giving some grace to you g adults, but do you really think we should try to equate Marijuana possession with gun crime?

Gameday Thread, Arrowhead Edition: TCU at Kansas (City)

I dunno, if the ball shots forward 15 yards, that usually isn't a fumble.

Attendance looks like a COVID / UFL game.

    Kansas game uniforms...

Bingo. Those unis can do no wrong on a good boy like that.

    Pac-2 now the Pac-8

Does any of this really matter? This sounds to me like if the Big East and CUSA were fighting each other in 2012. What's the point? The reality is that the power conference Pac 12, the one that had USC, Oregon, Washington, UCLA, Stanford, etc, is dead. What you are left with is a conference...

FWST: TCU wide receiver pleads guilty to misdemeanor after arrest on assault with deadly weapon

As we saw with Baylor, there's stuff the coaching staff wasn't aware of, and then there's stuff the coaching staff "wasn't aware" of.

FWST: TCU wide receiver pleads guilty to misdemeanor after arrest on assault with deadly weapon

He was literally arrested for a gun charge. Twice. It has quite a bit to do with his ability to access guns.
